Job description

Our Enterprise Collaboration, AI, and Web Services (ECAWS) Team provides web application and collaboration solutions in support of the Laboratory’s technical mission and its day-to-day operations. These solutions include intranet and collaboration tools, document management systems (such as SharePoint), and web application development. ECAWS supports the external website, Atlassian tools (Confluence and Jira), eForms, and enterprise search. The team also enables others to create Drupal websites, designs user experiences, and develops websites both internally and externally (for conferences). ECAWS provides application integration with web services for many existing and new business applications. Additionally, ECAWS integrates new technology capabilities, such as generative artificial intelligence (AI), enabling Laboratory personnel to be more effective and efficient.

Position Description

Seeking a qualified co-op candidate to support the ECAWS AI development effort between June – December 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Assist other developers on the team in the design and development of the web interfaces and APIs to the AI and cloud applications
  • Assist in the establishment of and follow design standards, design patterns, and best practices
  • Help the team with changes or updates related to AI applications and test those changes
  • Help others in the group in the resolution of issues, including the determination and provision of workaround solutions
  • Create documentation for all levels of the software development life cycle
  • Meet expected standards such as accuracy, thoroughness, and correctness in all assigned work

Qualifications

  • Technical Co-Op: $24.50 – $31.00 per hour (based on year in school)
  • Administrative Co-Op: $21.50 – $25.00 per hour (based on year in school)
