ABOUT AMAZING LIFE

Amazing Life creates content, products, and technology that equip churches and families to inspire the next generation.

We are looking for a Senior Web Designer to take meaningful ownership of the quality, execution, and continual improvement of Amazing Life’s web presence.

This is a Figma-first, hands-on web design role for someone with excellent visual judgment, strong UX thinking, and enough technical fluency to move comfortably from design into the realities of a live website.

THE ROLE

The Senior Web Designer will design, maintain, and continually improve web experiences across Amazing Life’s digital ecosystem focused on our joinamazing.com site.

This is first and foremost a design role. We are looking for someone with strong visual judgment, excellent web and UX craft, and the ability to independently take a page or experience from problem to polished design without needing someone else to define the creative solution.

You will work deeply in Figma, handle ongoing website design and updates, manage and improve our existing WordPress presence found at thinkorange.com, and work closely with engineering to bring high-quality digital experiences to life.

You should understand how websites are built and maintained, but we are not looking for a front-end engineer. Your technical knowledge should make you a better web designer—helping you create realistic solutions, work confidently in existing web environments, and collaborate effectively through implementation.

Our web environment is evolving. Figma is becoming increasingly central to how we design, prototype, and build new experiences, while WordPress remains an important part of our existing web presence.

You will often receive a goal or problem rather than a complete brief. We expect you to understand the need, ask the right questions, design a strong solution, work through implementation with the right partners, and stay involved until the experience is live and working well.

This is a senior individual-contributor role for a designer who enjoys making, refining, solving, and shipping.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Design, build, and continually improve Amazing Life’s websites, landing pages, product experiences, campaigns, and other digital touchpoints.
  • Own daytoday web design needs, including page builds, visual improvements, responsive refinements, and ongoing site updates.
  •  Work deeply in Figma for UX, visual design, responsive layouts, prototyping, reusable components, and digital design systems; use Figma Sites and other modern web tools where appropriate.
  •  Turn loosely defined goals or problems into clear, polished digital experiences with a high standard of typography, hierarchy, interaction, responsive behavior, and brand expression.
  • Manage and improve our existing WordPress site, including pages, templates, content structure, plugins, responsive QA, and designled updates.
  •  Work closely with engineering to translate designs into production, solve implementation constraints, review builds, and ensure the finished experience reflects the intended design.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve usability, navigation, information architecture, product discovery, accessibility, performance, and conversion using analytics, user behavior, and design judgment.
  • Use AIassisted tools thoughtfully to accelerate exploration, prototyping, production, and implementation while maintaining strong human judgment and craft.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of professional web, digital, UX/UI, interactive, or related design experience.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent web and digital design, including real experiences that have shipped.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, with excellent visual design craft across typography, hierarchy, layout, interaction, responsive design, and brand expression.
  • Strong UX thinking and the ability to independently take a web problem from initial direction through polished final design.
  • Experience creating and maintaining reusable components, templates, and digital design systems.
  • Experience managing and improving production WordPress websites.
  • Practical working knowledge of HTML and CSS, with enough familiarity with JavaScript and modern frontend concepts to make informed design decisions and work effectively with engineers through implementation.
  • Strong communication, ownership, and followthrough, with a working understanding of accessibility, SEO, performance, analytics, and conversion fundamentals.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

We do not expect every candidate to have all of these.

  • Experience with Figma Sites or other modern webbuilding tools.
  • Experience using AIassisted design, prototyping, or webbuilding tools.
  • Experience with user testing, experimentation, motion, or interaction design.
  • Experience designing digital products, subscription platforms, contentrich websites, or systems used by marketers and content teams.
  • Experience in publishing, education, ministry, familyfocused products, or missiondriven organizations.
  • YOUR PORTFOLIO

Your portfolio will be one of the most important parts of our evaluation.

We want to see real websites and digital experiences that shipped, not only isolated visual concepts or static design exercises.

  • Strong portfolios should demonstrate:
  • Excellent web and digital design.
  • Strong typography, hierarchy, layout, and visual craft.
  • Thoughtful UX and responsive design.
  • Sophisticated Figma work.
  • An understanding of how designs translate into real websites.
  • Reusable components, systems, or templates.
  • Evidence that you personally owned meaningful parts of the work from problem through launch.
  • For your strongest projects, be prepared to explain the problem you were solving, what you personally owned, why you made the decisions you made, how the experience was implemented, the constraints you encountered, and what happened after launch.

We care about the thinking and execution behind the work, not only the finished screens.

    WHY JOIN AMAZING LIFE?
  • Take meaningful ownership of a growing and evolving web presence.
  • Have the opportunity to both design the experience and help bring it to life.
  • Work directly across design, engineering, product, marketing, content, technology, and brand.
  • Help improve the web platforms we rely on today while contributing to what we build next.
  • Build systems and experiences that support multiple products and audiences.
  • Join a team that values strong craft, ownership, collaboration, continual growth, and work that actually ships.
