Job description

Starting Wage Range: $32.74/hr. - $42.16/hr.
Job Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of Tribal Audio and Video needs to include production and equipment operation, maintenance and storage. Maintains Tribal web presence including site/page design, page maintenance, information/departmental updates, and posting of all web content externally and internally.
Essential Functions:
  • Manages, maintains, operates and stores Tribal audio and video production equipment.
  • Coordinates schedules and directs all AV requests and operations; ensuring that departments are provided with effective AV functions and any related equipment necessary. Serves as the Tribe's AV contact to other entities.
  • Live streams regularly scheduled tribal meetings and specially scheduled Tribal events.
  • Coordinates and supports streaming media content internally and externally.
  • Plans, creates, executes, and organizes eventsWorks collaboratively with other employees to implement live events on social media.
  • Provides support for pre- and post-production.
  • Produces, dubs, edits, and copies all AV media, as required.
  • Troubleshoots problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user training and assistance where required.
  • Manages video files in a team setting.
  • Provides systems integration(s) between new and existing systems.
  • Monitors effectiveness of AV systems. Provides recommendations to supervisor for improved operations, systems and updated hardware or software.
  • Researches, identifies and selects new service or equipment providers as required.
  • Builds and maintains an inventory of all AV equipment.
  • Assists with Tribal social media and email communication on a variety of platforms.
  • Assists in the planning, designing, testing, editing, maintaining, and documenting the look, flow, and navigation of all Tribal websites utilizing Content Management Systems.
  • Supports and maintains internal and external web-based content including creating and updating information in the site, adding new features to the site, and changes to the appearance of the site.
  • Maintains the flow of the web site as well as aesthetic appeal, general graphics, and custom graphics to ensure consistency, quality and efficiency.
  • Analyzes and utilizes site traffic information to guide tribal websites towards desired customer experiences. Makes decisions regarding capacity and effectiveness of content using this site traffic information as well.
  • Develops and maintains expertise in the latest theories, principles and technical advancements through continuing education and training, research, professional journals and organizations, current literature, conferences, vendor presentations, to improve or replace existing systems and increase knowledge.
  • Establishes and encourages communication with all Tribal departments and entities soliciting information or content for internal and/or external use to ensure effective web design services and support is provided.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of all information encountered while performing daily tasks.
  • Monitors effectiveness of information systems. Provides recommendations to supervisor for improved operations, systems and updated hardware or
  • Informs supervisor of area activities and of any significant issues requiring attention.
  • Works in a professional courteous manner, as a representative of the Tribe, with all customers to include vendors, Tribal employees and contractors.
  • Assists as one of the Tribe's Web Design contact to other/outside entities.
  • Manages the effective completion of Web Development functions.
  • Assists supervisor in establishing effective Web Development policies and procedures.
  • Under direction, implements operational goals and ensures that Tribe-wide AV, and Web Development needs are complemented and supported
  • Assists in the selection of new service or equipment providers as required.
  • Produces reports, statistics and other desired information for strategic planning and budgeting purposes.
  • Assists in the formulation of yearly Information Systems Budget as it pertains to Web support.
  • Provides assistance in various graphic/motion design projects and internal form development and management.
  • Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Licenses:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree in Computer Sciences preferred.
  • Requires two (2) years of progressive work experience developing and maintaining web content and related web services.
  • Requires two (2) years of progressive work experience operating and maintaining A/V equipment.
  • OR equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Driving Requirements:
  • Must maintain a valid Oregon driver's license or obtain one upon hire, qualify for the Tribe's vehicle insurance, and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance.
Qualifications, Registrations, and Certifications:
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Dreamweaver. Knowledge of, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Premiere a plus.
  • Must have good conceptual design skills.
  • Ability to grasp new technologies and skills quickly and efficiently required.
  • Must have a high degree of passion about A/V production, web design, and technology. Express interest and drive in learning new techniques and technologies.
  • Must have understanding of information architecture and information flow.
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills and personal initiative, including the ability to carry out assignments with minimal supervision and pay great attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of computers, laptops, current Microsoft Windows operating system(s), and the current Microsoft Office productivity suite required.
  • Must have excellent technical knowledge, equipment support experience, troubleshooting of teleconferencing equipment, presentation equipment, and other AV hardware, including sound mixing and recording systems and equipment, public address systems, projectors, laptops, microphones, and mobile devices.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in meeting and dealing with others required.
  • Ability to efficiently plan, schedule, control and accomplish various activities and projects simultaneously and within appropriate time constraints required.
  • Ability to apply complex problem solving techniques required.
  • Ability to use good judgment in the analysis of facts and circumstances to determine the appropriate action(s) taken within the limits of standard or accepted practices required.
  • Ability to work independently on assignments of performing repairs, service and maintenance required.
  • Skill in preparing oral and written technical reports and presentations required.

  • Must be able to perform Audio/Visual functions at remote locations and work non-standard hours to accommodate after hours and/or weekend meetings.

Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Continually requires the ability to express or receive detailed information or important instructions through oral communication.
  • Continually requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm. Requires repetitive movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
  • Requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally.
  • Frequently involves exerting up to 50 pound of force, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
  • This position is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions that provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions.
  • May be called upon to serve as a Disaster Reservist during Emergencies, or when the Tribal Emergency Operations Center is opened.
  • Local travel will be necessary between the Tribal campus and Tribal Satellite Offices when required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required.
