Job Summary
The Web Developer is responsible for the design, development, optimization, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of dynamic web properties that support paid media initiatives and broader digital marketing objectives. This exempt position reports to the VP, Marketing and collaborates closely with the web development and marketing team to deliver high-performing, secure, scalable, and visually compelling web experiences.
The Web Developer translates marketing and business requirements into fully functional, optimized web applications and landing page experiences. This role independently manages assigned development initiatives while collaborating with team members on shared infrastructure, standards, and technical solutions. The position exercises sound technical judgment, communicates effectively with leadership and stakeholders, and proactively identifies opportunities to improve digital performance and operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain internal and customer-facing web properties to ensure optimal performance, usability, accessibility, and responsiveness.
  • Translate complex marketing and business requirements into scalable, dynamic web applications and landing page experiences.
  • Independently manage the development lifecycle for assigned web projects, from requirements and solution design through deployment, optimization, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Collaborate with marketing, design, analytics, and development team members to design and implement layouts including mockups, content structures, and production-ready builds.
  • Optimize web pages for paid traffic performance, conversion rate optimization (CRO), page speed, and SEO best practices.
  • Manage and prioritize assigned development initiatives of varying scope and complexity while coordinating with team members to ensure timely and accurate delivery across shared projects.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of web infrastructure, supporting systems, integrations, and deployment workflows in coordination with the development team.
  • Implement secure coding standards and ensure compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
  • Collaborate with paid search, analytics, design, and marketing teams to support campaign tracking, tagging, and reporting.
  • Utilize version control systems and structured deployment processes to maintain code integrity and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while proactively identifying opportunities for performance, scalability, and process improvements across team-managed web properties.
  • Communicate project status, timelines, technical considerations, and potential risks with marketing leadership and team stakeholders.
  • Share technical knowledge, support teammates, and contribute to collaborative problem-solving within the development team.

Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in web development or related digital development role.
  • Demonstrated experience with modern web development concepts, best practices, repository management, and deployment workflows.
  • Experience supporting paid media or performance marketing environments preferred.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of layout principles, responsive design, and aesthetic design concepts.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and modern HTML editors/IDEs.
  • Advanced knowledge of:

    • PHP
    • HTML5
    • CSS3
    • JavaScript

  • Experience with FTP, Git repositories, version control workflows, and scripting.
  • Understanding of web analytics implementation, tracking scripts, and conversion optimization principles.
  • Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility, accessibility standards, and page speed optimization techniques.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple development initiatives while collaborating effectively with other team members.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
