Job description

Location, Reporting & Travel
Reports to the Chief Revenue Officer. This is a full-time, 100% remote role within the United States, with approximately 20-25% travel for team meetings, member and partner engagement, conferences, and E3n events.
About Us
E3n is a not-for-profit, member-based organization serving independent schools, educators, students, and families across the full student lifecycle.
Formed through the merger of the former Educational Records Bureau (ERB) and the Enrollment Management Association (EMA), E3n builds on nearly a century of collective expertise in assessment, enrollment, and student development. E3n exists to deepen school impact and advance whole-student growth by uniting academic and enrollment leadership around shared, data-driven insights.
E3n provides comprehensive assessments, tools, professional learning, data and insights that help independent schools demonstrate their value and support student success from pre-enrollment through graduation - extending beyond academic performance to include student well-being, sense of belonging, and social-emotional development.
About the Opportunity
E3n is seeking a strategic, hands-on marketing leader to help translate the organization's post-merger strategy into disciplined, integrated, and measurable execution. The Vice President, Marketing will bring process, pace, and performance to a wide range of marketing work across brand, communications, member lifecycle, product marketing, events, sales enablement, and marketing operations.
This role is ideal for a senior marketing professional who can move fluidly between strategy and execution - building campaign plans, improving systems, coaching a team, analyzing performance, and partnering across Sales, Product, and the Member Experience functions . The right leader will thrive in ambiguity, enjoy building structure, and care deeply about helping schools understand E3n's value across the full student lifecycle.
As an executive-level functional leader, the VP will be expected to make sound decisions, manage resources, influence across teams, and ensure marketing execution strengthens E3n's market presence, member engagement, and growth outcomes.
What You'll Do
Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Vice President, Marketing will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Set Enterprise Market Strategy and Executive Alignment
  • Establish and execute a unified market strategy that clarifies E3n's value proposition, and positioning following the merger.
  • Define enterprise marketing priorities, success metrics, investment choices, and operating rhythms that align with E3n's strategic plan, growth goals, member outcomes, and organizational performance.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment across Sales, Product, Member Experience, and other teams so E3n presents one coherent market narrative and delivers against shared outcomes.
  • Represent E3n with external stakeholders, including independent school leaders, members, partners, sector influencers, and, as appropriate, Board-level audiences.

Execute Brand Integration, Messaging, and Marketing Communications
  • Implement E3n's post-merger brand integration across legacy organizations, ensuring consistent brand voice, messaging, visual identity, and tone across channels and stakeholder groups.
  • Support the rebranding of core assets, including web and digital content, member communications, sales materials, product collateral, conference/event materials, and internal templates.
  • Translate E3n's mission, capabilities, and portfolio into clear, audience-specific messaging for school leaders, members, prospects, educators, students, and families.
  • Elevate E3n's thought leadership and market visibility through coordinated content, campaigns, events, and communications that position E3n as a trusted resource for independent schools.

Drive Member Lifecycle Marketing: Engage, Retain, Grow
  • Use member segmentation to define target cohorts and develop a multi-channel strategy that increases engagement, retention, product and service usage/adoption, and expansion opportunities.
  • Develop and execute multi-channel marketing plans that showcase Professional Learning and increase engagement among priority audiences.
  • Create communication plans that educate members about upcoming product releases in enrollment, achievement, assessment, and related portfolio areas with compelling benefit statements for key cohorts.
  • Partner with Member Experience to identify moments in the member journey where marketing can improve onboarding, adoption, renewal readiness, and long-term value.

Partner with Sales and Revenue Teams to Support Growth
  • Partner with Sales to provide core messaging, competitive differentiation, competitor profiles, campaign assets, and sales enablement materials needed to achieve growth goals.
  • Translate revenue priorities into campaign briefs, audience strategies, content plans, calls to action, and channel recommendations.
  • Support member acquisition goals by ensuring marketing programs are aligned to pipeline needs, buyer personas, , competitive positioning , and membership value drivers.
  • Collaborate with the CRO and revenue-facing teams to establish practical reporting on campaign performance, lead quality, engagement, and marketing contribution to shared outcomes.

Lead Product Marketing, Portfolio Messaging, and Partnerships
  • Implement and integrate a voice-of-the-customer process that informs messaging, product positioning, launch planning, and customer-facing content.
  • Partner with Product and Member Experience teams to evaluate and refine the market positioning of core products and services.
  • Develop competitor messaging frameworks and product-level differentiation for E3n's portfolio.
  • Support adoption and scale for new products and releases, including Wild Zebra and new blended admissions assessment offerings.
  • Promote key partnerships, including Committee for Children, Wild Zebra, and Test Innovators, in ways that drive growth and member value around SEL curriculum, AI tools, and test practice.

Strengthen Marketing Operations, Team Management, and Budget Discipline
  • Develop, implement, and maintain marketing tools, processes, dashboards, and reporting routines that enable data-informed decisions and stronger campaign execution.
  • Define core KPIs and action plans for engagement, campaign performance, product usage, retention support, and marketing operational effectiveness.
  • Provide performance management, coaching, and development for the marketing team, including the current five FTEs and a newly onboarded marketing communications resource.
  • Model best practices for cross-functional engagement and ensure the marketing team operates with clarity, accountability, and strong service orientation to internal partners.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget with appropriate financial controls, vendor oversight, and expense management.

Measures of Success
  • Marketing plans, calendars, campaigns, and event support are delivered on time, aligned to organizational priorities, and clearly connected to member and revenue outcomes.
  • Campaign performance improves through disciplined testing, segmentation, analytics, and optimization.
  • Sales, Member Experience, and Product teams receive practical, timely marketing partnership and enablement.
  • Members and prospects experience a clearer, more consistent E3n brand and portfolio story across channels.
  • The marketing team operates with stronger systems, clearer priorities, better reporting, and consistent coaching.

Why Work with Us
At E3n, you will join a mission-driven organization formed through the unification of two respected leaders in independent education. We are building something new - bringing together enrollment and academic perspectives to create deeper insight, stronger institutions, and better outcomes for students from pre-enrollment through graduation.
At E3n, you will experience:
  • Purpose with impact. Our work directly supports educators, school leaders, and families nationwide. The decisions we make - and the tools we build - matter.
  • Smart, thoughtful colleagues. You will work alongside people who care deeply about education, ask good questions, and value collaboration, clarity, and integrity.

  • Growth during a moment of transformation. E3n is actively evolving. That means opportunities to shape systems, influence direction, and grow alongside an organization defining its future.
  • Values-driven, data-informed. We balance heart and rigor - grounding our work in evidence while staying anchored in empathy, equity, and real-world impact.

If you are energized by meaningful work, thoughtful problem-solving, and helping schools better serve students, you will find a home at E3n.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15+ years of relevant professional experience, including significant leadership responsibility for functions, teams, or major organizational initiatives.
  • Progressive marketing leadership experience across marketing communications, product marketing, lifecycle/customer or member marketing, growth marketing, campaign strategy, and marketing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute integrated, multi-channel marketing plans across email, social, web, events, webinars, member portals, print assets, direct mail, and partner channels.
  • Record of supporting a sales function with a suite of enablement tools resulting in member acquisition, member retention, and product expansion resulting in top-line growth.
  • Fluency in B2B and B2C marketing strategies, including segmentation, buyer personas, market research, customer journeys, and audience-specific messaging.
  • Experience using CRM, marketing automation, campaign analytics, and performance reporting tools to guide decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Experience managing people, budgets, vendors, timelines, and cross-functional work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Preferred Skills & Experiences
  • Experience in EdTech, education services, assessment, and enrollment.
  • Knowledge of the private and independent school landscape and the needs of school leaders, educators, students, and families.
  • Experience in membership-based organizations, including retention, engagement, renewal, product usage, and expansion strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Pardot, Marketing Cloud, or comparable marketing technology tools.
  • Experience marketing conferences, annual meetings, webinars, sponsored events, partner campaigns, or professional learning offerings.
