Job description

The VP of Sales and Business Development is responsible for leading all revenue-generating functions across The RISE Group, Inc., including sales, business development, market expansion, and strategic partnerships.

This role is accountable for driving sustainable, profitable growth by building and executing a unified go-to-market strategy that integrates RISEโ€™s full portfolio of services across all business units. The VP SBD will champion a โ€œOne Companyโ€ sales approach, enabling cross-Division collaboration, improving customer experience, and maximizing enterprise value in alignment with RISEโ€™s strategic framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales growth strategy aligned with RISEโ€™s strategic plan and business objectives.
  • Drive top-line revenue growth across all divisions while maintaining disciplined margin performance.
  • Identify and prioritize new market opportunities, expansion geographies, and customer segments.
  • Lead and integrate all sales and business development functions across RISEโ€™s operating divisions.
  • Transition of the organization from department-based selling to a unified, portfolio-driven sales model.
  • Establish consistent sales processes, forecasting discipline, and pipeline management across the enterprise.
  • Build and operationalize a unified portfolio of services that leverages RISEโ€™s full capabilities (energy, HVAC/mechanical, engineering, and related services).
  • Develop a clear, compelling value proposition that supports consultative cross-selling and bundled solutions.
  • Strengthen key client relationships and expand wallet share across existing customers.
  • Design, implement, and continuously refine commission and incentive programs that align with enterprise-wide revenue goals.
  • Lead the transition to harmonized commission structures that reward cross-functional selling and collaboration.
  • Partner closely with Division VP/GMs to align revenue strategy with operational execution, ensuring accountability for growth targets across all business units.
  • Partner with Finance and HR to ensure transparency, compliance, and performance-driven outcomes in all incentive plans.
  • Identify strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and alliances to accelerate growth.
  • Expand RISEโ€™s presence in existing and new markets through targeted business development initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory environments that impact growth strategy.
  • Establish clear KPIs, dashboards, and reporting routines for revenue performance, pipeline health, and conversion metrics.
  • Drive accountability across the sales organization through disciplined performance management.
  • Partner with IT and operations to enhance CRM utilization and data visibility across the sales lifecycle.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales and business development organization
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and customer-centricity aligned with RISE mission, vision, and values.
  • Promote the ESOP ownership mindset and its connection to revenue growth and enterprise value creation.

Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, including enterprise-level or multi-division organizations.
  • Proven record of driving significant revenue growth and executing market expansion strategies.
  • Experience implementing integrated / cross-functional sales models is strongly preferred.
  • Background in energy, HVAC, engineering services, construction, or related industries preferred but not required.
