Job description

We are seeking a Bilingual Area Vice President- Eastern Canada to plan and direct the operations of a small scope organization. This position is on-site with flexibility, and the candidate could be based near a branch in Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa, or Toronto. 

The Bilingual Area Vice President is responsible for Canadian region from Ontario East: Ontario, QC, all Atlantic provinces. Developing strong customer relationships in the region across all segments.

Job Summary:

Plans and directs the operations of a small scope organization. Management may be global, within a portion of a geographic region, a single business within a country, or a Cummins' controlled joint venture. Implements operating policies and procedures through Managers.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

  • Achieve or exceed balanced scorecard targets for the organization of responsibility. 
  • Manages profit and loss and asset utilization. Develop business plans based on the strategic goals set by business unit leadership. Grows the business profitably. 
  • Manages multiple locations. Through managers, implements operating policies and procedures across multiple functional areas including customer service, finance, quality control, purchasing, materials management, and human resources. 
  • Where available, follows common global business processes as defined by Cummins Operation System functions. Anticipates, recognizes, facilitates and coordinates the resolution of cross-functional challenges that may impact organizational success. 
  • Builds and maintains strong customer relationships. Achieves high customer satisfaction ratings. Works with customers and Cummins employees to continuously improve customer satisfaction and to understand what the customer will need from Cummins in the future. 
  • Translate long-term business strategy into actionable short-term business goals for the organization. 
  • Champions Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives within the organization. 
  • Develops, leads, and motivates Managers; sets goals in training and development, performance, and career planning. Develops high-functioning teams. 
  • Maintains a deep understanding of all of Cummins' businesses. Identifies and develops new business opportunities that are optimized for Cummins. 
  • Understands the region within which the organization operates as well as Cummins' global products and presence.

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Business or related field required. Equivalent business experience will also be considered.

  • Fully Bi-lingual with English and French capabilities.
  • Extensive experience working in a unionized environment, including union negotiations, is mandatory. Instead of just saying it is an asset to have experience in a Union work environment.
  • Experience of working in heavy equipment retail industry is preferred.
  • This role requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Reliability Status Security Clearance and a Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) license.

Ontario Pay Transparency Act

  • The annual salary for this position is $133,00-$225,500
  • This role includes benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, pension plan) starting on your first day. It does include a variable compensation of 20%

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our Company Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
