Job description

Training & Development Specialist

The ideal candidate must reside within commuting distance to a JJE location in Canada.


About the Role

The Training and Development Specialist reports to the Training & Development Manager and supports key operational leaders delivering impactful training with a primary focus for Service training. This role develops, and implements learning programs that improve onboarding, technical skills, customer service, and operational consistency. By creating practical training solutions for inperson, virtual, and ondemand environments, the training specialist’s success in this role requires a strong learning and development mindset. While focused primarily on Service operations, this role collaborates closely with leaders and subject matter experts to standardize processes and enhance overall learning and development across the organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct training needs and skills gap assessments to identify development opportunities across departments and teams.
  • Design, develop, and maintain training materials, learning resources, procedures, and standardized work instructions.
  • Deliver engaging training programs through workshops, webinars, coaching, e-learning, and in-person instruction.
  • Support onboarding programs and employee development initiatives by providing structured learning pathways and resources.
  • Collaborate with leaders and HR to develop competency models, employee development plans, and career progression pathways.
  • Maintain and administer the Learning Management System (LMS), including training records, course assignments, and learner progress tracking.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, competency validation, and performance metrics.
  • Develop cross-functional knowledge of Service and Parts operations to support training, process consistency, and business continuity.
  • Ensure that all training programs meet legislation requirements.

  • Base salary range: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 annually

Schedule: Monday-Friday - occasional extended hours may be required based on operational needs.

What You Bring

  • Over 3 years in service operations roles and over 2 years in heavy equipment, trucking, or manufacturing industries
  • Strong understanding of ERP and operational systems such as IntelliDealer, Smartsheet, TARGIT, and TEAMS
  • Skilled in adult learning, training design, facilitation, and delivering engaging presentations
  • Experience coaching and developing service teams, including Service Writers and Coordinators
  • Ability to identify performance gaps and build learning solutions aligned with business needs
  • Capable of translating complex technical processes into clear training materials and job aids
  • Strong communication, organization, project management, and stakeholderinfluencing skills supporting standardization and continuous improvement

Additional Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Adult Education, Learning & Development, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related discipline considered a strong asset.
  • Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid passport and be available for travel

  • Effectuez des évaluations des besoins de formation et des lacunes de compétences afin d'identifier les opportunités de développement entre les départements et les équipes.
  • Concevoir, développer et maintenir des supports de formation, des ressources d'apprentissage, des procédures et des instructions de travail standardisées.
  • Offrez des programmes de formation engageants par le biais d'ateliers, de webinaires, de coaching, d'apprentissage en ligne et d'enseignement en personne.
  • Soutenez les programmes d'intégration et les initiatives de développement des employés en offrant des parcours d'apprentissage structurés et des ressources.
  • Collaborez avec les dirigeants et les RH pour développer des modèles de compétences, des plans de développement des employés et des parcours de progression de carrière.
  • Maintenir et administrer le Système de gestion de l'apprentissage (LMS), incluant les dossiers de formation, les assignations de cours et le suivi des progrès des apprenants.
  • Surveillez et évaluez l'efficacité de la formation par des évaluations, des rétroactions, la validation des compétences et des indicateurs de performance.
