Job description

Job Title: VP, Real Estate Accounting & Reporting

Location: Denver, Colorado

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead accounting and reporting activities for a growing portfolio of industrial and data center assets across the full asset lifecycle, including acquisitions, development, stabilization, operations, and dispositions.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for the asset portfolio, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete financial reporting.
  • Maintain accountability for management reporting, supplemental reporting and support schedules for external SEC filings, including Forms 10‑Q and 10‑K, in close partnership with corporate external reporting teams.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in compliance with GAAP and company standards, including guidance for complex transactions, capitalization, development activities, dispositions, and emerging accounting considerations related to data centers and new business.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of accounting professionals while driving alignment, accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence as the function centralizes and scales.
  • Serve as a trusted accounting partner to industrial operations, development, data center, finance, external reporting, and other business leaders by providing financial insight, reporting transparency, and accounting guidance to support strategic decisions and investment growth.
  • Drive modernization initiatives focused on automation, process standardization, reporting efficiency, scalable accounting infrastructure, and improved systems and workflows across PeopleSoft, Oracle EPM, and other reporting platforms, including opportunities to leverage technology and AI‑enabled reporting solutions.
Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting / Controller experience, including significant leadership experience within large, complex organizations and public company environments.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles, internal controls, financial reporting processes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex accounting operations across large real estate portfolios.
  • Experience managing, developing, and scaling high‑performing teams in fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environments, with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Strong background in process improvement, automation, organizational scaling, and finance or accounting transformation initiatives.
  • Experience partnering cross‑functionally with operations, development, finance, external reporting, and executive leadership teams to support strategic business decisions.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, problem‑solving, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with experience using ERP and reporting platforms such as PeopleSoft, Oracle EPM, and related financial reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience within real estate: logistics and/or data center industries.
  • Combination of Big 4 public accounting and industry experience.
  • Experience supporting rapidly growing or evolving business portfolios.
  • Exposure to accounting modernization initiatives, AI‑enabled reporting capabilities, and scalable finance transformation efforts.
  • Demonstrates willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed.
  • Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.
Salary

Hiring Salary Range of: $185,000 - $255,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target & LTI (Long Term Incentives) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
