Job Title:
Vice President, OCVIBE Strategy & Business Operations
Pay Details:
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $225,000 to $325,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
The Vice President, OCVIBE Strategy & Business Operations serves as the architect and owner of OC Sports & Entertainment's operating system and a strategic partner to the CEO and Executive Committee. The VP will report directly to the CEO. This role is responsible for translating OCVIBE'S long-term vision into disciplined, measurable execution across venues, development, partnerships, hospitality, and shared services.
The VP leads the organization's strategic planning processes, district performance architecture, and executive operating rhythm while ensuring financial and organizational resources are aligned with the district's highest priorities. This role is responsible for collaborating with applicable members of the OCSE Executive Committee and across the enterprise on business plans for new lines of business.
Operating as the divisional integrator, this leader ensures OC Sports & Entertainment functions as a cohesive, high-performing ecosystem rather than siloed business units. The role requires a deft level of leadership with the ability to drive cross-functional alignment, establish accountability frameworks, and enable leadership teams to execute complex, multi-year strategic initiatives across the OCVIBE district. Additionally, this role requires a skilled leader who earns respect and drives alignment through influence rather than formal authority. This leader will serve as a key accelerator for the CEO and will work side by side in advancing operating discipline and accountability.
Responsibilities
Enterprise Strategy & Strategic Alignment
Lead enterprise strategy execution across the OC Sports & Entertainment ecosystem
  • Partner with the CEO and Executive Committee to operationalize annual and multi-year strategic priorities
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear operating plans, execution roadmaps, and enterprise OKR frameworks
  • Lead the strategic planning process and support the development of long-term growth strategies
  • Ensure alignment across district operations, venue management, development, partnerships, hospitality, marketing, and community initiatives
  • Monitor execution health and proactively identify risks, tradeoffs, and resource gaps

Enterprise Performance Management & Governance
Own the company's enterprise performance management framework and governance processes
  • Design and institutionalize OC Sports & Entertainment's enterprise-wide QBR framework
  • Establish the organization's strategic scorecard and OKR architecture
  • Standardize performance reporting and executive dashboards across business units
  • Ensure the divisional objectives ladder directly aligns with the enterprise strategy
  • Enforce accountability for strategic commitments and performance outcomes
  • Serve on the steering committee for the Data Insights Group, prioritizing enterprise analytics, and decision-support initiatives
  • Lead the strategy and execution of predictive AI initiatives focused on optimizing operations and unlocking additional value through expanded use of AI tools
  • Partner closely with Finance and FP&A to align performance reporting with financial planning and forecasting

Executive Operating Rhythm & Decision Governance
Architect the executive operating model that enables effective leadership decision-making and organizational alignment
  • Design and manage the executive leadership cadence, including weekly leadership meetings, monthly business reviews, quarterly strategic sessions, and annual planning and capital alignment processes
  • Ensure executive forums are data-driven, outcome-focused, and aligned to strategic priorities
  • Establish clear decision rights, escalation pathways, and follow-through mechanisms
  • Improve enterprise decision velocity while reducing organizational friction

Strategic Portfolio & Cross-Functional Initiative Leadership
Lead enterprise oversight of OC Sports & Entertainment's strategic initiative portfolio
  • Act as the CEO's thought partner on evolving district-wide strategy
  • Maintain visibility into major district initiatives, including development milestones, venue activations, sponsorship launches, technology implementations, and cross-functional transformation efforts
  • Prioritize initiatives based on enterprise impact, strategic alignment, and resource capacity
  • Remove cross-functional barriers and clarify ownership to ensure initiatives progress effectively
  • Drive integration between development timelines and operating readiness across venues and district operations

Budget Alignment & Strategic Resource Allocation
Partner with Finance leadership to align capital and operating resources with enterprise priorities
  • Support long-range financial planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling
  • Partner with Finance to initiate AI-driven process changes in accounting and budgeting processes
  • Evaluate ROI and resource allocation across major initiatives
  • Identify misalignment between financial investments and strategic objectives
  • Support capital prioritization across development, infrastructure, and operating initiatives

Organizational Effectiveness & Operating Model Design
In partnership with the SVP, Human Resources for OCVIBE, help drive organizational alignment and evolve the operating model as the OCVIBE ecosystem continues to scale
  • Evaluate and help support organizational structure evolution to support long-term district growth
  • Clarify decision rights, functional interfaces, and cross-business collaboration mechanisms
  • Improve communication and alignment across leadership teams
  • Institutionalize accountability frameworks tied to divisional outcomes
  • Support leadership calibration and performance management processes

District Risk Management & Scenario Planning
Establish district-level visibility into operational and strategic risks. Work directly with the SVP, Real Estate and District Operations on mitigation opportunities
  • Lead scenario planning related to event and revenue volatility, development delays, economic conditions, and market dynamics
  • Develop and maintain an operating risk management framework to minimize loss exposures
  • Coordinate mitigation strategies across departments to ensure organizational readiness

Executive Support & Strategic Advisory
Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive Committee on key initiatives and enterprise priorities
  • Prepare executive briefing materials and board-level presentations
  • Synthesize operational, financial, and market insights into strategic recommendations
  • Track district commitments and governance directives across the organization
  • Represent executive leadership in cross-functional forums and strategic working groups as appropriate

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 12 to 18+ years of experience in strategy, operations, sports & entertainment, hospitality, real estate development, or similarly complex environments
  • Experience at leading management consulting firms or in enterprise strategy and operations roles is strongly preferred
  • Proven experience driving cross-functional change management and execution within large, matrixed organizations
  • Experience creating and implementing AI process improvement and analysis.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, and investment evaluation
