Job description

Company description
Heartbeat is a full-service agency for healthcare Challenger Brands. Challengers are playing a high-stakes game-they must battle behemoth market leaders, upend ingrained treatment habits, or transform a "me-too" product into "yes-please."
The agency is known for serving up distinctive strategies and differentiating approaches, ensuring clients' market positions are uniquely owned. Heartbeat designs their organization around a 100% integration model, housing media, strategy, med comms, creative, technology, and even point of care/population health under the same roof for the tightest, most integrated campaigns possible. They price work based on outcomes, not outputs. Their innovative model delivers not only alignment, but powerful orchestration, greater efficiency, and maximum impact for every dollar spent-all the necessary elements for Challengers to triumph.
That's the philosophy, here's the creds: 250+ employees between NYC & LA; 6 agency leaders with decades of tenure; a pile of awards from the likes of the Mannys, MM&M Awards, OMMAs, and Clios; an industry-leading commitment to diversity and inclusion (with a Med Ad News D&I Champion nod to match); and a President who dared to be quoted as saying, "We celebrate people who stand up and say, 'You know what? This is dumb.' Damn straight.
Overview
As Vice President, Analytics, you will lead a team of directors, managers, and analysts to elevate Heartbeat's position as a leader in health media and advertising analytics. The role oversees all aspects of data and analytics, from cross-channel measurement to audience insights, while driving strategic innovation and client satisfaction.
You will collaborate closely with Media leads on client deliverables, process and efficiency improvements, and engage with internal and external collaborators to maintain Heartbeat as the most sought-after agency for clients in the health and pharmaceutical space.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage large-scale client across 3 brands as HCP/DTC full agency of record.
  • Develop measurement frameworks and KPIs to help clients define what success looks like for media engagements.
  • Deliver reporting, advanced analytics and insights for client deliverables, ensuring methodological rigor and scope adherence.
  • Lead client engagements, including performance reviews, business updates, and reporting.
  • Oversee reporting materials, case studies, and data-driven storytelling for internal and external collaborators.
  • Find opportunities to address client needs and foster revenue growth. Proactively sell in analytic services and methodologies to help bolster client engagement.
  • Empower BI leads to deliver comprehensive, data-driven proposals and insights.

Strategic Innovation & Growth
  • Apply client feedback, market research, and competitive insights to inform strategies.
  • Develop central strategies connected to actionable insights and larger organizational goals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal collaborators.
  • Establish tactical plans for analytics, optimizations, and performance strategies.
  • Form and implement test and learn plans to help clients advance their business goals.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Collaborate with Media and Heartbeat leads to align staffing, scoping, recruitment, and candidate evaluation.
  • Mentor and empower employees to diversify analysis and reporting opportunities.
  • Foster relationships with collaborators to align strategic recommendations.
  • Develop a work environment composed of teamwork, feedback, and recognition.
  • Proactively address resource constraints and deadlines through analytical decision-making.

Media Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of the ins and outs of healthcare media and healthcare marketing landscape.
  • Background in data infrastructure and PLD.
  • Experience working with claims data and creation of segmentation strategies using healthcare data.

Leadership Skills
  • Diligent, data-driven problem solver with strong communication skills.
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and proactive in a changing landscape of client needs and assignments.
  • Collaborative leader with clear guidance and communication skills.
  • Skilled in relationship management and operational excellence.
  • Curious, passionate storyteller with a curiosity about client relationship building.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required (BS in analytics, business, or related field preferred); Master's degree a plus.
  • 8-10+ years of experience in data, analytics, and marketing.
  • 3+ years managing high-performing teams.
  • 3+ years in pharma, OTC, or wellness verticals.
  • Expertise in media analytics platforms (e.g., Datorama, Power BI, Crossix, IQVIA).
