Job description

Vice President, Analytics

Heartbeat is a full-service agency for healthcare Challenger Brands. Challengers are playing a high-stakes game—they must battle behemoth market leaders, upend ingrained treatment habits, or transform a "me-too" product into "yes-please."

The agency is known for serving up distinctive strategies and differentiating approaches, ensuring clients' market positions are uniquely owned. Heartbeat designs their organization around a 100% integration model, housing media, strategy, med comms, creative, technology, and even point of care/population health under the same roof for the tightest, most integrated campaigns possible. They price work based on outcomes, not outputs. Their innovative model delivers not only alignment, but powerful orchestration, greater efficiency, and maximum impact for every dollar spent—all the necessary elements for Challengers to triumph.

That's the philosophy, here's the creds: 250+ employees between NYC & LA; 6 agency leaders with decades of tenure; a pile of awards from the likes of the Mannys, MM&M Awards, OMMAs, and Clios; an industry-leading commitment to diversity and inclusion (with a Med Ad News D&I Champion nod to match); and a President who dared to be quoted as saying, "We celebrate people who stand up and say, 'You know what? This is dumb.' Damn straight.

We're Heartbeat — the marketing agency for Healthcare Challenger Brands and the brave clients behind them. And now we're searching for a seasoned, strategic, big-picture leader to join us as Vice President, Analytics — the champion of insights that fuel transformative campaigns for consumers, HCPs, and the brands we serve. Read on to see what we're looking for and why this role is such a hell yes career move.

At Heartbeat, the Vice President level is where strategic agency leadership starts — and where you'll continue to build towards even greater impact. You'll have opportunities to:

  • Influence agency strategy and strengthen analytics as a core differentiator in client engagements.
  • Contribute to the development of new service offerings and analytics-driven products that expand our capabilities and revenue streams.
  • Play a key role in business development, partnering with new clients and pitching analytics-enabled solutions.
  • Deepen leadership reach — coaching directors and senior analytics leaders to deliver exceptional work.
  • Become a recognized voice in the healthcare marketing analytics landscape.

We want someone who doesn't just do analytics — but reimagines it for a purposeful, challenger-centric agency. Specifically, you'll:

  • Partner with agency leadership to shape and advance Heartbeat's analytics strategy, ensuring we stay competitive, innovative, and forward-leaning in how we harness data.
  • Oversee development of measurement frameworks, advanced models, and analytic products that elevate how we measure impact and inform strategy.
  • Partner across strategy, creative, media, technology, and client leadership to embed data-driven thinking into everything we do.
  • Lead high-performing analytics teams, driving mentorship, career growth, and a culture of curiosity.
  • Represent Heartbeat in senior client engagements and select industry forums, championing our analytics point of view and insights leadership.
  • Provide thought leadership on emerging analytics methodologies, tools, and industry trends that keep us ahead of the curve.

With 12+ years of analytics, marketing measurement, or data science leadership experience, you know how to drive measurable, strategic impact across client portfolios and agency operations.

  • Partnering with senior analytics and agency leadership to shape and implement a comprehensive analytics vision that supports Heartbeat's client goals and business strategy — from behavioral customer insights to omni-channel measurement and optimization.
  • Leading and scaling analytics practices, including data strategy, BI architecture (Tableau, Power BI), advanced modeling, and data governance.
  • Developing enterprise-grade data products and frameworks that drive consistent insight delivery across clients and markets.
  • Executive reporting, storytelling, and communication with senior internal leaders and client executives, translating complex analytics into clear business recommendations
  • Identifying strategic opportunities grounded in data — from media mix optimization to customer lifetime value and segmentation — and pairing findings with practical, business-forward recommendations.
  • Leading analytics teams with empathy, establishing best practices, and fostering professional growth.
