What are Volunteer Pre Litigation Attorneys?

Volunteer Pre Litigation Attorneys are lawyers who offer their legal services on a voluntary or pro bono basis to assist clients before a lawsuit is formally filed. They help individuals or organizations resolve legal disputes through negotiation, mediation, or other pre-litigation processes, aiming to avoid costly court proceedings. These attorneys may work with nonprofit organizations, legal aid societies, or community groups to support those who cannot afford legal representation. Their work is essential in providing access to justice and promoting fair dispute resolution.

Job description

Providence Staffing's client is seeking a Rhode Island–licensed Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Attorney dedicated to representing injury victims in their fight against large insurance companies in Providence, RI. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys client interaction, case strategy, and negotiating favorable settlements prior to litigation while making a meaningful impact for clients.

This position focuses on managing personal injury cases from intake through settlement, working closely with clients, medical providers, and insurance carriers in a supportive environment that removes the pressure of traditional billable hours through a performance-driven compensation model.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage personal injury cases from intake through pre-litigation resolution.
• Conduct client consultations and maintain regular communication regarding case status and strategy.
• Review liability, damages, medical records, and insurance coverage to evaluate claims.
• Draft and submit demand packages to insurance carriers.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Work closely with case managers, medical providers, and support staff to develop strong claims.
• Identify cases that should be escalated to litigation and collaborate with litigation attorneys during transition.
• Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure timely follow-up on all matters.
• Contribute to firm growth through strong client service and successful case resolutions.

Why Join the Firm?

Competitive Compensation: Base salary ranging from $125,000–$175,000, plus a bonus structure designed to reward successful settlements.
Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) with company contribution; paid time off; sick leave; volunteer service leave; and more.
Professional Development: Ongoing mentorship, regular attorney meetings, paid CLEs, and training focused on negotiation and case evaluation.
Work-Life Balance: Remote work options, a collaborative office environment, and a culture focused on teamwork and professional support.

Ideal Candidate

• Active Rhode Island law license (required).
• Experience handling personal injury matters in a pre-litigation environment preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to resolve cases efficiently.
• Comfortable communicating directly with clients, adjusters, and medical providers.
• Excellent case evaluation and demand preparation abilities.
• Passionate about representing injury victims and delivering exceptional client service.
• Motivated to grow professionally within a team-oriented environment.
