Choice Hotels, one of the world's largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our Software Engineer 2 on our AI Operations & Enablement team. The AI Operations & Enablement team oversees our enterprise AI tooling platforms, gathers usage and cost metrics from everywhere AI is used across the organization, and builds custom AI tooling in the form of plugins and MCP servers. As a key member of our AI Operations & Enablement team, you will help design and implement the infrastructure and processes that allow us to effectively govern and scale AI adoption across Choice Hotels.

Your Responsibilities

  • Research new AI solutions and capabilities to evaluate for adoption within our Approved AI Tooling ecosystem
  • Leverage our AWS services to create and manage infrastructure that supports our Approved AI Tooling
  • Set up and maintain data feeds from a variety of sources to gather AI usage and cost metrics
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture to clear roadblocks to adopting and scaling our AI tooling
  • Implement enforceable AI governance guardrails across the organization
  • Support LLM lifecycle management and benchmarking
  • Create and maintain documentation and enablement resources so teams can confidently adopt our AI tooling

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience/training
  • Experience with Claude, ChatGPT, M365 Copilot, Power Automate, or similar AI tools
  • AWS experience
  • Java, Python, and/or JavaScript
  • Experience with Harness or another CI/CD platform
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC); experience with AI-DLC a big plus
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies, Service Oriented Architecture, and object-oriented programming methodologies
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, and testing
  • Exceptional verbal, written and listening communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and demeanor
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office suite, including familiarity with Visio
  • Passion for leveraging AI to increase speed and capabilities, along with the desire and ability to learn quickly
  • Demonstrates key competencies to include Cultivates Innovation, Nimble Learning and Drives Results

This is an individual contributor role that will report to the AI Operations Manager. You will have 4 teammates and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.
