Job description

What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Cobol Developer within our Corporate Payments division. This position falls under our Corporate Payments line of business and will be based out of our office in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining critical financial applications. You will report directly to the Senior Software Engineering Manager and collaborate regularly with engineering teams, product management, and other stakeholders.

As a COBOL Developer, you will be expected to work in a remote environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Working independently on all tasks
  • Designing, developing and maintaining custom applications or configuration of corporate application systems and services.
  • Analyzing and designing application systems encompassing the development, modification and translation of user requirements.
  • Planning, investigating, and proposing systems and application solutions
  • Preparing workflow for writing, testing and maintain in computer programs.
  • Communicating effectively with product management, project management, and other stakeholders in preparation of application design specifications
  • Encoding, testing, debugging and installing the operating program and procedures in coordination with Operations and Infrastructure and Departments.
  • Correcting, testing and documenting changes to existing programs.
  • Conducting training and presentation to users and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting existing applications.
  • Acting as a mentor to entry level and/or novice developers

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
  • At least 5-7 years working experience as a software developer and/or designer.
  • Programming Languages/Tools:  COBOL, CICS, JCL, SQL, DB2, VSAM
  • Environment: IBM Mainframe using TSO / ISPF
  • Have Knowledge or Experience with MQ Series, EXCI,  XML, SCLM, IBM Debug, MicroFocus Revolve, Tivoli
  • Hands-on experience in object-oriented language/frameworks (Java, C# and or JEE, .NET), RDBMS (Microsoft SQL or Oracle), and Web technologies including HTML/JavaScript.
  • Experience with one of the following Integrated Development Environment (IDE) –RDz, Eclipse, or Ms Visual Studio.
  • Advanced degree – MBA or MS
  • Self-motivated and interested in working closely with the business in support of transaction processing and financial services businesses.
  • Keen to explore software development and support in a high volume transaction processing environment or business systems.
