As a part-time COBOL programmer, your job is to code software using the Common Business-Oriented Language. In this role, you help test applications as you develop them and provide further advice and support to a business. You usually work on small jobs or support other programmers with specific tasks. Like most programmers, you may also code in different programming languages like C++ or Java as needed. Unlike full-time programmers, part-time COBOL programmers work thirty hours or less per week. While part-time positions are not common, some companies hire part-time programmers to support their full-time staff.
