Role:COBOL AS/400 Developer Location:San Antonio TX (Onsite) Duration:Long Term Contract Descriptions:
  • Develop, maintain, and support business-critical COBOL and RPG-based applications, adding strong legacy support to the team’s TECHNICAL ARSENAL.
  • Design and maintain DB2/400 databases.
  • Create Physical Files, Logical Files, and indexes.
  • Optimize SQL queries and improve application performance.
  • Perform data migration and database tuning activities
  • Analyze business requirements and prepare technical design documents.
  • Design, code, test, and deploy COBOL/AS400 applications.
  • Develop new programs and enhance existing applications
  • Deep understanding of DB2 databases; creating and maintaining data models, and troubleshooting/tuning advanced SQL performance issues on the iSeries platform.
  • Extensive experience in analyzing, debugging, and resolving complex batch processing and interactive application issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and modernization teams to integrate AS/400 applications with modern distributed systems.
  • Experience in continuous integration/deployment processes specific to the IBM i environment.
  • Knowledge of Agile principles with experience in Scrum or Kanban.
  • Interface AS/400 applications with distributed systems.
  • Develop APIs and web service integrations.
