Job description

Santa Marta Senior Living is seeking a Catholic Priest Chaplain to provide sacramental ministry, pastoral care, and spiritual leadership for a vibrant faith community of nearly 350 residents spanning independent living, assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing. The campus includes more than 150 actively practicing Catholics, with 50-60 residents attending daily Mass and many additional residents participating through televised services.
This position is structured as a part-time role averaging 20 hours per week. Santa Marta would like to divide responsibilities between two part-time priests, either in a two-day/five-day or three day/four-day weekly schedule.
Santa Marta offers a stipend directly to the chaplain or chaplains in gratitude for their service. Santa Marta has a monthly chaplaincy budget of $2,500, which would be shared between the chaplain and associate chaplain according to the division of responsibilities. Requirements
Primary Responsibilities
Liturgical Ministry
• Celebrate Mass in the Independent Living Chapel according to the following schedule:
  • Monday-Friday: 11:30 a.m. Mass (preceded by Rosary at 11:00 a.m.) In independent living
  • Saturday Vigil Mass: 4:00 p.m.
  • Sunday Mass: 8:30 a.m.

• Celebrate weekly Mass in Healthcare.
• Ensure continuity of liturgical services when unavailable.
Sacramental Ministry
• Hear or coordinate weekly Sacrament of Reconciliation.
• Provide individual Anointing of the Sick as needed.
• Conduct a monthly Anointing of the Sick in Healthcare.
• Respond to sacramental needs of residents as needed.
Spiritual Leadership
• Coordinate weekly Eucharistic Adoration in both the Independent Living and Healthcare chapels.
• Provide pastoral visits and spiritual support to residents.
• Collaborate with campus leadership and ministry volunteers to strengthen the spiritual life of the community.
Ministry Support Team
The Chaplain at Santa Marta is supported by both paid and volunteer staff who assist in the delivery of Masses and scaraments. The ministry support team includes:
Pastoral Assistant
A paid part-time Pastoral Assistant works two days per week visiting residents in Healthcare, assessing spiritual and pastoral needs, and communicating findings to the chaplain for follow-up visits, anointing, and other ministry needs.
Chapel Manager
A resident volunteer Chapel Manager:
• Coordinates more than 30 chapel volunteers.
• Oversees chapel donations.
• Helps oversee supervision of sacristy, readers, altar servers, and choir members. (Each group has a leader to organize their volunteers)
• Assists with communion ministry coordination throughout healthcare. Resident Faith Formation Committee An interfaith resident committee designed to inform, enrich, and help residents grow in their faith. This committee develops retreats, educational programs, and spiritual enrichment opportunities to serve the religious needs of the campus community.
Deacon Support
Deacon:
• Assists with Wednesday Masses and Adoration.
• Helps provide continuity of ministry during emergencies, such as inclement weather.
Protestant Service Coordination
• Santa Marta Leadership coordinates two weekly interfaith Protestant services to support faith formation of Protestant residents. Community Profile
