VOLUNTEER ~ Share Your Sunshine ~ Be a Friendly Visitor!

Share your sunshine by spending a little time visiting with patients who are often lonely and without the comfort of immediate family.  Our patients benefit so much from warm smiles, pleasant conversations, and gentle hand holding.  Our patients enjoy listening to music on your smart phone, being read to or just quiet visits with someone who thinks they matter.  We provide free comprehensive training and support along your journey.  Join our team!  You can make a difference in someone's life!

Requirements:

  • 18 years old.
  • Able to commit for one year to our program.
  • Able to commit to at least 4 hours per month. 
  • Ability to listen deeply, interest in and compassion for others, good boundaries and self-care, and meet people where they’re at in energy and tone. 
  • Free Comprehensive Online training (10 Hours, at your own pace) is personally enriching, focusing on personal death awareness and hospice philosophy.  The training is a great resume add.  For those that complete the training and honor their commitment, we offer a letter of recommendation!
  • Those with recent family passings are advised to wait for a year before volunteering.
