Job description

Position Summary:

The purpose of this role is to provide patrons with a positive memorable experience while viewing galleries, learning about artists, shopping, and enjoying food and beverage. The Visitor Experience Associate Level 3 has broad knowledge and experience and works in the café, retail shop, and front desk at the Art Center and Art Preserve. At times, oversees management of SHOP when working alone. This role will fill in when other staff are out. This role cross trains other staff members on the Retail and Front Desk Systems and is primary subject matter expert for the system. This position reports to the Visitor Experience Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Receives merchandise and processes invoices to ensure payment for orders received.
  1. Cross train staff in the Café, SHOP, and Front Desk on Retail and Front Desk Systems and operational procedures.
  1. Produce and audit daily sales reports from Retail and Front Desk Systems, prepare deposits, and ensure accurate cash drawer balances and credit card transactions.
  1. Assists Retail Manager ECommerce and SHOP merchandising.
  1. Respond to inquiries and educate patrons about menu, programming, merchandise, exhibits, and local resources.
  1. Act as backup manager for the SHOP.
  1. Sell tickets, camps, classes, membership, preschool tuition, alcoholic beverages, and merchandise utilizing CRM and POS systems.
  1. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2 years’ experience in customer service & retail including opening and closing.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Maintain and/or obtain State of Wisconsin bartending license

Preferred

  • 3 years’ experience in retail field
  • Ecommerce experience
  • Merchandising experience
