Job description

Our Opportunity

At Chewy, we strive to be the most trusted and convenient online destination for pet parents and our partners – vets and service providers – alike. Our success is measured by the happiness of the people and pets we serve, not simply by the amount of pet supplies we deliver. That’s why we continue to think outside the Chewy box to delight, surprise, and thank our loyal pet lovers!

Chewy’s mission is to be the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents and partners everywhere. Within Chewy Health, we are redefining how veterinary care is delivered—extending beyond the clinic to meet pet parents wherever they are. Our virtual veterinary services are a core pillar of this strategy, providing pet parents with fast and convenient access to veterinary guidance through a growing suite of digital care experiences, ranging from free triage to full telemedicine.

As we scale, a critical focus is how virtual care is surfaced, adopted, and experienced across the broader Chewy ecosystem. We are seeking a Director, Product – Virtual Veterinary Services to lead product execution across this space—owning how the experience comes to life for both pet parents and providers, and how it integrates seamlessly across Chewy.

This leader will translate business strategy into high-impact product experiences, drive roadmap delivery, and build a high-performing product organization, partnering closely with engineering, clinical, operations, and growth teams.

What You’ll Do

Own Product Execution & Delivery

  • Own the end-to-end product roadmap and execution across our virtual veterinary services, spanning triage and telemedicine experiences

  • Translate business strategy into clear product plans, priorities, and deliverables

  • Drive high-quality, predictable delivery across multiple teams and workstreams

  • Maintain strong operating mechanisms for planning, prioritization, and cross-functional alignment

Own the End-to-End Customer Experience

  • Define and continuously improve the full pet parent journey, including discovery, education, access, consult initiation, and post-care engagement

  • Ensure experiences are intuitive, trusted, and seamlessly integrated into the broader Chewy ecosystem

  • Identify and eliminate friction points that limit adoption, completion of care, or customer satisfaction

Own the End-to-End Veterinary Professional Experience

  • Define and continuously improve the end-to-end experience for veterinary professionals, including pre-consult preparation, in-consult workflows, documentation, and post-care processes

  • Build intuitive tools and workflows that enable veterinary professionals to deliver high-quality, efficient, and compliant care, in close partnership with clinical, legal, and operations teams

  • Identify and eliminate difficulties that reduce provider satisfaction or clinical effectiveness, improving engagement, retention, and sustained performance

Drive Deep Integration Across Chewy

  • Partner with product teams across Cart, Checkout, PDP, Pharmacy, Vet Diet, Payments, CRM and Customer Service to embed virtual care across the end-to-end customer journey

  • Influence shared roadmaps and priorities to ensure consistent, high-quality representation of virtual care across all key surfaces

  • Drive alignment across teams to reduce fragmentation and deliver a cohesive, unified experience

Improve Care Flow, Access, and Efficiency Through Product

  • Improve intake, routing, and overall care flow in partnership with operations and clinical teams

  • Find opportunities to increase access, throughput, and utilization through scalable product and system design

  • Influence demand shaping and intake quality to improve downstream performance and reduce inefficiencies

Drive Product Performance

  • Own product metrics, including conversion, engagement, retention, and funnel performance

  • Establish goals, dashboards, and operating rhythms to monitor and improve performance

  • Use data and experimentation to drive continuous improvement and inform prioritization

Operate in a Regulated, Clinical Environment

  • Ensure all experiences meet regulatory and compliance requirements

  • Partner with clinical, legal, and compliance teams to integrate appropriate guardrails and workflows

  • Balance compliance with a seamless customer experience

Lead a Scaled Product Organization

  • Lead and develop a multi-layered product team, including leaders and individual contributors

  • Drive team performance, coaching, and career development

  • Define team structure and operating model to support a growing and increasingly complex product portfolio

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the product leader for virtual care across a highly matrixed organization

  • Influence across teams without direct authority to deliver business outcomes

  • Communicate roadmap, priorities, tradeoffs, and performance clearly to senior partners

What You’ll Need

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent (MBA a plus)

  • 10+ years of experience, including 8+ years in product management

  • 5+ years of experience leading product teams, including experience leading leaders

  • Proven track record of delivering complex, multi-team product roadmaps at scale

  • Experience owning and optimizing end-to-end customer journeys and funnel performance

  • Strong product and execution instincts, with the ability to balance speed, quality, and impact

  • Experience working cross-functionally across product, engineering, operations, and business teams

  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale high-performing product organizations

  • Strong analytical abilities and experience using data to drive decisions and measure impact

  • Excellent communication and partner management skills

  • Experience operating in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, telehealth, pharmacy, fintech)

Bonus

  • Experience with two-sided or marketplace products (customers and providers)

  • Familiarity with clinical workflows, provider tooling, or scheduling systems

  • Background in veterinary or human healthcare

  • Experience integrating products across large, multi-surface ecosystems

Why This Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead product for a rapidly scaling digital health business—owning how virtual veterinary care is delivered at scale, and shaping experiences that improve access, quality, and outcomes for millions of pet parents.

The base salary range for this role is $204,500 - $300,000.00.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. We offer parental leave, family services benefits, backup dependent care, flexible spending accounts, telemedicine, pet adoption reimbursement, employee assistance program, and many discounts including 10% off pet insurance and 20% off at Chewy.com.
