Position Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Garnishments & Risk Management Specialist to support payroll compliance and claims administration activities. This individual will be responsible for processing employee garnishments, maintaining accurate payroll and claims documentation, responding to agency inquiries, and ensuring all regulatory deadlines are met. The ideal candidate will have payroll experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage time-sensitive requests in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Garnishment Administration
- Review and process garnishment orders received via mail, email, and electronic systems.
- Verify garnishment documents are assigned to the correct employee and legal entity.
- Audit garnishment orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain tracking logs and spreadsheets for incoming garnishment activity.
- Process returned checks and coordinate responses with applicable agencies.
- Prepare and submit required responses to courts, government agencies, and third-party administrators.
- Upload and transmit garnishment documentation through FileZilla and Dayforce.
- Access CT Advantage to verify, save, and upload garnishment records.
- Maintain an audit trail of all incoming, scanned, and processed garnishments.
- Audit payroll records to ensure garnishments are established and processed correctly within Dayforce.
- Research and resolve garnishment discrepancies, exceptions, and payroll processing issues.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local garnishment regulations.
Risk Management & Claims Support
- Maintain accurate documentation related to workers' compensation and other claims.
- Respond to information requests from TriStar, Risk Management, and other third-party administrators.
- Complete employer wage verification forms and provide weekly wage calculations.
- Prepare and submit C240 forms and related claims documentation.
- Provide earnings and payroll information to support claims investigations.
- Verify timesheet accuracy and confirm days worked as needed.
- Provide pay stubs and payroll records in response to claims requests.
- Ensure all claims-related requests are completed within required deadlines to avoid penalties and compliance issues.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in payroll, garnishment administration, workers' compensation, claims administration, or a related field.
- Experience working with payroll systems; Dayforce experience preferred.
- Knowledge of wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and payroll compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of payroll documentation and recordkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and maintaining tracking spreadsheets.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Dayforce payroll software (HUGE PLUS)
- Familiarity with CT Advantage and FileZilla.
- Experience supporting workers' compensation claims administration.
- CPP, FPC, or related payroll certification is a plus.
