Clinical Dietitian Weight Management - St. Francis Eastside
Job Summary
  • Utilizes the Nutrition Care Process to assess outpatient nutrition status. Develop and implement nutrition education plan relative to age, individual requirements and learning style. Monitor and adjust education plan as appropriate to achieve client learning, compliance and measurable outcome. Documents appropriately.
  • Develops curriculum for nutrition assessments and classes, and teaches classes as required by the clinical area of care.
  • Works in close collaboration with providers and full interdisciplinary team to safely and effectively provide appropriate care to patients.
  • Participates in hospital and community nutrition and wellness committees, programs and health promotions including health fairs and wellness events.
  • Assists with planning, implementing and evaluating nutrition care policies, and quality standards for patient service.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written. Comfort and capability performing telephonic and virtual nutrition assessments.
  • Participates in department and hospital quality improvement activities. Uses outcomes to refine practice and maintain quality patient care. Assists to develop, implement and evaluate nutrition care policies based on current trends and quality improvement outcomes.
  • Coordinates inpatient teaching activities (as related to weight management), objectives, programs and teaching tools with inpatient staff. Acts as a resource to inpatient staff by providing training and updates to maintain quality and consistency in practice.
Education
4 year/ Bachelors Degree in Nutrition and a supervised practice experience in foods and nutrition, or dietetic internship (required)
Licensing/ Certification
Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and must have active SC Licensed Registered Dietician (SC LLR) (required)
Experience
Experience specific to Bariatric and Metabolic Services: Previous experience working with a multidisciplinary bariatric surgical program is strongly encouraged (preferred)
