Job description

Bon Secours in the coastal Hampton Roads/Tidewater Virginia region of Virginia is adding a General Neurologist to join our team at Bon Secours Neuroscience Center. 

Practice Locations - Harbour View Health Center - Suffolk VA | Maryview Medical Center - Portsmouth VA | DePaul Medical Office Norfolk VA

We have a Resident/Training Stipend Program available!

New Grads are welcome to apply!  The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience and be willing to help grow the developing program.   The new Neurologist will provide outpatient service and follow up care to discharged patients - Also provide hospital consult and follow up coverage one week per month inpatient at Maryview Medical Center.

Focus on reading EEG studies, performing EMGs, Stroke and Neurophysiology care

Job Details:

  • Clinic Hours:  Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM 
  • Average patient volumes: 18-20 per day in clinic - adult/geriatric
  • New Consults: average 6 per day
  • Call coverage:  1 week per month inpatient at MMC, hospital consults - No Stroke Coverage (telemed covers)
  • During the week of inpatient service, there is no service at the outpatient clinic
  • 1:1 CMA:MD and APC support in clinic
  • EPIC EMR - DAX Co-Pilot A/I Charting and MyChart for virtual visits as needed
  • Abundant referrals and patient volume - anticipate quick ramp up process
  • Occasional training rotations by local medical students
  • Joint Commission Advanced Primary Stroke Center since 2010
  • Stroke Gold Plus Award from American Heart Association
  • Eligible candidates must have completed a U.S. based Residency and by BE/Board Certified by ABMS
  • Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S.
  • Have current and unrestricted Virginia license, or eligibility to obtain Virginia licensure
  • Bon Secours is a 501(c)3 health system eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness

Compensation & Benefits:  Bon Secours offers a competitive compensation package designed to reward excellence and support work–life balance:

  • Guaranteed base salary $325,000 for first two years plus productivity and quality incentives if wRVU threshold is met.  This is combination of guaranteed comp for the inpatient week and wRVU productivity - eligible practice for the outpatient clinic weeks.
  • Bonus Available: wRVU Productivity, $ per wRVU Quality goal, System KPI attainment
  • Starting bonus and student loan debt assistance available
