Job description

This is a 3rd shift position 11pm-7am Sunday-Thursday
Summary/Objective:
The Maintenance Mechanic's job is to perform routine and extensive range of work in the repair and general maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment under general supervision. The responsibilities are to execute work within established procedures and processes, with both verbal and written instructions.
Essential Functions:
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Inspect, operate and test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearing gears and other parts of machinery.
  • Repair and replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools, power tools and reassemble equipment.
  • Move and assist in transportation of furniture and equipment.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other health and safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years experience in related field.
  • General knowledge of various types of mechanical equipment.
  • General knowledge of electrical engineering, plumbing, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics and PLC.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and shifts.
  • Willing to be on call and respond to after-hour emergencies.
  • Communicate efficiently and fluently in both written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
  • Attention to details to ensure quality of work.
