Special Event Chef

Job Overview:

The Special Events chef is responsible for directing and executing exceptional culinary experiences for special events at the resort. This role combines culinary excellence, creativity, operational leadership, and guest-focused service to deliver memorable dining experiences that reflect the resort's luxury standards.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized culinary professional with strong banquet and event experience, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for creating innovative menus tailored to diverse guest needs and event themes.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead all culinary operations related to special events from planning through execution.
  • Execute customized menus for weddings, private events, conferences, social gatherings, and resort-sponsored events.
  • Collaborate with planning and sales teams
  • Ensure consistency, presentation quality, and exceptional taste standards for all event food offerings.
  • Develop creative culinary concepts that align with event themes and luxury guest expectations.
  • Supervise banquet culinary staff.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Maintain high levels of employee engagement, professionalism, and accountability.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules based on event volume and operational needs.
  • Uphold resort standards for food quality, presentation, sanitation, and service.
  • Conduct quality control checks before and during events.

Qualifications:

  • Culinary degree, diploma, or equivalent professional training.
  • 2+ years prior experience as a Chef.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a luxury resort, five-star hotel, or destination hospitality environment.
  • Experience with high-profile weddings, corporate functions, and VIP events.
  • Possess strength in training and team building programs.
  • Ability to multi-task
