Key Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Set clear goals, developing plans and tactics to deliver key performance indicators and operational productivity
  • Evaluate production line capacity to allow for accurate standards
  • Evaluate processes and procedures and propose improvement ideas
  • Strategically partners with the site maintenance department for ongoing production needs
  • Champion employee safety and food safety programs drive a solid culture within the department
  • Lead a culture that engages production employees at all levels towards performance, efficiency and cost improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and reliable production performance reporting.
  • Identify skills gaps across the team and implement training and coaching programs to develop employees, build expertise and close gaps.
  • Manage and control labor cost to include direct labor, changeovers, overtime, optimized scheduling and crewing rotations for the production team
  • Manage and control material cost to include waste, scrap, usages, cycles and product overweight
  • Maintain a clean, organized, uncluttered and safe work environment, ready for safety, food safety and customer quality audits
  • Selection of all new hires for the production department ensuring proper training
