Job description

The Digital Media Producer serves as SBAMโ€™s subject matter expert for digital storytelling, multimedia content strategy, and digital audience engagement. This position is responsible for developing and directing compelling digital content that advances organizational priorities, strengthens member engagement, and enhances the visibility of SBAMโ€™s mission and impact.

The Digital Media Producer collaborates with marketing and communications to determine creative approaches, content formats, storytelling methods, and digital distribution strategies across video, web, and emerging digital channels. This role combines creative expertise, strategic content planning, and multimedia production to ensure SBAMโ€™s digital presence effectively supports organizational objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Digital Storytelling & Content Production
  • Identify, develop, and produce compelling stories that showcase SBAM members, initiatives, events, and impact.
  • Conduct interviews and gather content from members, partners, and staff to create engaging multimedia stories.
  • Lead the production of video-based storytelling content from concept through final delivery.
  • Recommend creative content approaches that strengthen engagement and reinforce SBAM's mission.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications leadership to translate organizational priorities into impactful digital stories.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for digital storytelling and audience engagement.
  • Capture and communicate authentic member experiences across video, web, and digital channels.
Creative Direction & Multimedia Production
  • Lead the concept development, planning, production, and distribution of original multimedia content.
  • Exercise creative judgment in determining visual, audio, and narrative approaches for video and digital media projects.
  • Direct the development of video storytelling projects from concept through final delivery.
  • Create original multimedia content that reflects SBAM's mission, values, and strategic priorities.
  • Establish and maintain standards, best practices, and processes for multimedia content development.
Digital Media & Platform Management
  • Oversee the effectiveness of digital content across websites, video platforms, and other digital channels.
  • Evaluate and recommend enhancements to digital experiences based on audience behavior, usability considerations, and organizational objectives.
  • Determine digital content priorities and optimize content presentation to maximize engagement and impact.
  • Monitor trends and best practices in digital media, content development, and audience engagement and recommend adoption where appropriate.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 1. Skills/Knowledge Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency in video production, including filming, editing, formatting, and publishing content across digital platforms.
  • Experience using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
  • Experience updating and maintaining websites using content management systems (CMS).
  • Strong understanding of digital content best practices, usability, accessibility, and responsive design principles.
  • Ability to translate marketing and communications objectives into effective digital formats.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve digital content performance and user experience.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to brand consistency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders while independently managing assigned projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing content within WordPress, Sitefinity, SharePoint, or similar CMS platforms.
  • Experience supporting video storytelling, event coverage, interviews, or promotional content.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and website analytics tools.
  • Experience with photography, lighting, audio equipment, or multimedia production.
  • Experience creating content for association, nonprofit, membership, or mission-driven organizations.
  • Knowledge of digital accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Experience using AI-enabled creative or content production tools.
  • Basic understanding of website performance metrics and user behavior analysis.
2. Experience/Education

Bachelor's degree in digital media, multimedia production, marketing, communications, web design, graphic design, film production, or a related field, and at least three years of relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience demonstrating proficiency in video production, website management, and digital content execution will be considered.

3. Physical effort and dexterity

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers on the computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

4. Work environment and scheduling

The regular work environment results in little to no exposure to heat, cold, dust, loud noise or chemicals. Regular working hours for this position are 8:00AM โ€“ 5:00PM Monday through Friday. This position is hybrid-remote apart from travel requirements to attend key company-sponsored events. The employee in this position must have reliable transportation and a valid driversโ€™ license.
