Job description

VP Product

Optalysys is building at the intersection of AI infrastructure, photonics, networking and advanced compute. At the heart of our technology is compute-in-transit: embedding programmable photonic, light-based processing directly into the optical data path itself, so data gets processed at line rate as it moves, instead of being converted to electrons, shuttled to a chip, computed on, and converted back.

That opens up a fundamentally different way to think about the relationship between data movement and computation.

We’re now expanding in North America and looking for a VP Product to help turn compute-in-transit into products customers can understand, deploy and build around.

You’ll own product vision and strategy across photonic computing hardware, AI infrastructure, networking, high-speed I/O and supporting software platforms, working closely with Engineering, Architecture, Commercial and customers to translate breakthrough technology into a commercially successful roadmap.

What you’ll do

  • Define and communicate Optalysys’ product vision and strategy
  • Build the roadmap around compute-in-transit and next-generation AI infrastructure
  • Determine which workloads and customer problems create the strongest product opportunities
  • Own the portfolio across photonic hardware, networking, high-speed I/O and supporting software
  • Translate advanced R&D into commercially viable products
  • Develop a deep understanding of hyperscaler requirements and data centre architectures
  • Understand how Optalysys technology interacts with GPUs, accelerators and networking fabrics
  • Work directly with customers and strategic technology partners to shape future products
  • Align Product, Engineering and Commercial around a unified roadmap
  • Establish product management processes, prioritisation and governance

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a deeply technical product leader with 15+ years of Product Management or Product Leadership experience. Relevant experience could include:

AI Infrastructure | Networking | Photonics | Semiconductors | HPC | Advanced Compute

You should bring experience commercialising technically complex hardware or platform products, along with strong knowledge of modern AI infrastructure and high-speed networking.

Experience with technologies such as PCIe, CXL, Ethernet and InfiniBand is highly relevant. Experience working with hyperscalers, AI accelerators, cloud infrastructure or Photonic Integrated Circuits is also valuable.

Above all, you should be able to think across hardware, software, networking and compute and turn complex technology into a clear product strategy.

Why Optalysys?

This isn’t about maintaining someone else’s roadmap.

You’ll help answer the fundamental questions around where compute-in-transit belongs in the AI stack, which workloads benefit most and what customers need in order to deploy it.

You’ll help turn compute-in-transit from breakthrough technology into a real product category.
