Job description

Vice President, Software & Digital Platform

Energy Storage | AI | Cloud | EMS/BMS

This is an opportunity to build the digital backbone of an ambitious energy technology business, not inherit a finished platform. You will shape the architecture, product roadmap and software organisation behind a connected ecosystem spanning battery systems, energy management, AI, data and energy trading.

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will define the long-term software and digital platform strategy and turn it into a clear delivery roadmap. You will lead the development of a secure, scalable cloud platform connecting EMS, BMS, IoT devices, hardware systems, customer applications and data infrastructure.

The role will involve determining which technologies should be developed internally, where external partners should be used and how the platform can evolve into a commercially valuable digital product. You will oversee software architecture, product development, AI and analytics, DevOps, cybersecurity and hardware-to-cloud integration.

Alongside the technology itself, you will build and scale the software engineering, product and data organisation, establish strong development processes and work closely with battery, hardware, integration, commercial and operational teams to bring the platform to market.

Candidate requirements:

  • Significant leadership experience across software engineering, digital platforms or technology organisations
  • A proven record of taking complex software products from concept through launch and scale
  • Strong expertise in cloud architecture, APIs, microservices, data platforms and AI
  • Experience integrating software with hardware, embedded systems or connected devices
  • Experience within energy storage, EMS, BMS, energy trading, industrial IoT, EV charging, smart grids or a comparable environment
  • Experience building and scaling high-performing software, product and data teams
  • The ability to combine strategic leadership with strong technical credibility
  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to translate business objectives into scalable technology solutions
  • An attractive salary, performance-related bonus and equity package will be offered to the successful candidate.
