Job description

Job Summary:
MedImpact Healthcare Systems, Inc. is a privately-held pharmacy benefit manager headquartered in San Diego, California. They are seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering who will be responsible for all company technology and technological resources, including building an engineering team and establishing technology vision and strategies for growth.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them according to established goals
• Lead all technology efforts and create the technology roadmap and plan, outlining clear goals and executing on the plan in conjunction with organizational goals
• Ensuring alignment across all touch points
• Evaluate the company’s technology opportunities by closely monitoring ongoing industry developments and consumer trends on a continuous basis
• Leverage the latest technology by effectively employing data analytics, machine learning, enhancing customer and end-user experience
• Standardizing on an Agile software development process across the organization as appropriate
• Further refine standard KPIs and reporting to evaluate business performance against desired results
• Work with the Marketing Leadership Team to identify and implement marketing technologies that will help the team exceed their goals
• Support enterprise in change management efforts across the enterprise as it related to digital, experience, innovation and culture
• Lead, manage and develop the technology team, coaching for development opportunities and fostering a collaborative, open team environment
• Oversee and ensure systems and data security from internal and external threats
• Collaborate with operational teams to build improved system processes across the entire
• Oversee project management of all IT initiatives, ensuring that design, development and launch are executed on-time and within budget
• Responsible for defining business plans for the creation, maintenance and advancement of existing business solutions in order to meet strategic goals
Qualifications:
Required:
• BA/BS Degree or equivalent; plus 15 years’ related experience; 15 years of SME in respective area(s); (or equivalent combination of education and experience); and 12 years supervisory experience; Supervisory experience may be substituted with 12 years of MedImpact experience plus an appropriate external leadership training program and internal mentorship with a seasoned leader at the Vice President level or above that must be completed within 12 months in new position.
• Microsoft Office and Outlook; solid experience working with latest tools/technologies in the Information Technology Security field.
• Sound knowledge of industry standard best practices, development lifecycle processes and methodologies.
• Extensive knowledge of strategy setting, program requirement and project management methodologies and system development methodologies.
• Good problem solving, business analysis and project management, including conceptual and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to be client focused, responsive, flexible, positive and committed to delivering quality service and improvement in an environment of continuous change.
• Ability to work effectively with external partners/vendors to implement new solutions.
• Proven ability to work as a team player and develop solid work partnerships.
• Possess excellent time management skills and the consistently meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to influence others and facilitate meetings.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Strong vendor and client management skills and experience in matrix management organization.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Preferred:
• Experience using agile methodology is a plus.
