Job description

WHO WE ARE.
Glossier is a people-powered ecosystem, brought to life by engaging online and offline experiences. In 11 years, we have built an iconic brand that goes far beyond beauty. Our brand is built on trusted emotional connection, empathy, and consistency in how we show up for people every day. We are woven into everyday moments of people's lives, becoming part of their routines, their self-expression, and their confidence. We are defined not just by what we make, but by how we make people feel and the relationships we build over time. Our north-star values are to be Human, Curious, Playful, and Helpful. We are driven by a shared mission to become the Most Loved Lifestyle Brand in the World.

THE FORMULA.
We're looking for a Vice President, Product to help shape what's next at Glossier and bring it to life in a way only we can. Think of this role as a carefully crafted formula: equal parts visionary and operator, with a strong dose of curiosity, taste, and follow-through. We're looking for someone who can see what's coming, translate it into products our community will love, and meaningfully involve that community as a source of inspiration, insight, and co-creation throughout the development process, leading the work from idea to shelf and beyond.

Reporting to the CEO, the VP, Product will set the direction for our product portfolio across multiple categories, building an innovation roadmap grounded in consumer insight, cultural relevance, and market opportunity, and expressed through a lens that feels fresh, distinctive, and unmistakably Glossier. This leader will partner closely with Marketing, Creative, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance, and play a key role on the Senior Leadership Team to ensure cross-functional alignment, clarity, and momentum.

This role is all about balance: instinct and analysis, big-picture vision and rigorous execution, brand-building and business-driving. You will define our long-term product vision, create a differentiated pipeline of innovation, and ensure every product we bring to market meets a real customer need- while aspiring to create the next generation of category-defining, iconic products that only Glossier can deliver. Just as important, you'll build and lead a high-performing Product team, fostering collaboration, elevating standards, and ensuring best-in-class work at every stage of the process.ย

The North Star: Build iconic, category-defining products with our community, not just for them.

If you're energized by building, refining, and reimagining, and know how to pair creativity with disciplined execution, you may be exactly the ingredient we're missing. So, is this you? Read on carefully to see what it takes to bring this vision to life from start to finish.

BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER.
From bringing new ideas to life (and reimagining what already exists), shaping the future of our portfolio, to leading and inspiring the team behind it all, the Vice President, Product will play a key role across Product Development & Execution, Product Strategy & Portfolio, and Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnerships.
Product Development & Execution

  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, driving decisions across formulation, claims, naming, pricing, testing, and production
  • Deliver best-in-class launches across new products, reactivations, and renovations, from concept through execution
  • Own and execute the product roadmap, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery to the highest quality standards
  • Establish and scale standardized processes for PD/PM collaboration, including clear briefs and decision frameworks
  • Develop innovation pipelines informed by consumer insights, community feedback, and industry trends
  • Embed community-driven insights into product briefs and portfolio decisions
  • Ensure rigorous validation of product claims, safety, stability, and compatibility
  • Build and strengthen relationships with contract manufacturers and external partners to accelerate development cycles
  • Lead reformulations, repackaging, and optimizations to enhance competitive positioning
  • Support international expansion, including reformulations for compliance, localized claims, and registrations

Product Strategy & Portfolio

  • Define long-term portfolio strategy to drive differentiation and global growth
  • Lead 3-year category planning and portfolio strategy across Skincare, Makeup, Body Care, and Fragrance
  • Build reporting frameworks to assess category health and portfolio performance
  • Develop data-driven business cases for new launches and product investments
  • Lead consumer research and concept testing to validate innovation
  • Identify and scale key marketing levers, including promotions and reactivations
  • Partner with Creative and Brand Marketing to deliver impactful launch strategies and assets
  • Own global pricing strategy, balancing customer experience, competitiveness, and margin

Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Product team, fostering innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Own PD/PM budgets, forecasts, and alignment with Finance on revenue goals
  • Partner closely with cross-functional leaders across Supply Chain, Operations, Brand, and Creative to drive execution
  • Champion efficient, standardized ways of working to accelerate timelines and decision-making
  • Support key retail partnerships, including Sephora, in collaboration with Wholesale
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and cost targets to support growth and profitability
  • Serve on the Senior Leadership Team and act as a key partner to Founder & Executive Chairwoman Emily Weiss

KEY INGREDIENTS.

While there's no single path to success, we've found that the key ingredients below set the foundation for doing your best work, thriving in the role, and ultimately making it your own (i.e. successfully bringing this formula to life).

  • 10+ years of experience across product development, portfolio strategy, and/or product marketing within beauty or adjacent consumer categories, including 4+ years in senior leadership roles
  • Proven track record of building and bringing differentiated product pipelines to market at global scale
  • Experience leading end-to-end product development, from concept and formulation through commercialization and launch
  • Strong vendor management experience (domestic and international)
  • Strategic and analytical thinker with strong attention to detail; able to balance big-picture portfolio strategy with tactical execution
