Summary

The VP Merchandising leads multiple departments to develop consumer-relevant product assortments that support strategic, financial, and brand equity objectives. This role is accountable for product strategy and financial performance, driving assortment, calendar, and cross-functional alignment. The leader mentors and develops teams while presenting direction to senior leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Set challenging, measurable goals for cross-functional teams and hold teams accountable
  • Lead, mentor and develop direct reports and broader merchandising teams
  • Develop and execute merchandising strategies and product assortments to meet sales and margin forecasts
  • Strategically interpret consumer insight and competitive trends to inform product strategy
  • Drive calendar management to meet key dates and lead weekly and monthly financial review meetings
  • Present product strategy and assortment plans to senior leadership and partner with planning on financial forecasts
Requirements
  • 9+ years of experience leading and inspiring a merchandising team at a senior level
  • Highly attuned to merchandising and marketplace trends
  • Deep understanding of consumer behavior and competitive pressures
  • Proven ability to influence and persuade stakeholders and cross-functional partners
  • Strong communication, collaboration, planning and organizational skills
