Position Overview

The Associate Vice President of Admissions will lead a high-impact goal-oriented portfolio spanning undergraduate and graduate recruitment, admissions operations, and the campus visit experience. As a key member of the enrollment leadership team, this individual will influence institutional strategy, collaborate with senior leaders, and represent UNT to partners and communities across Texas and beyond.
UNT’s strategy focuses on developing student potential, driving innovation and partnerships, and advancing discoveries that strengthen regional and national competitiveness. The Associate Vice President will help translate this vision into action by building enrollment strategies that expand access, remove barriers, and support student success in alignment with evolving workforce needs.
This leader will design and execute data-informed enrollment strategies that drive growth and elevate the university’s profile. Through strong partnerships across campus, they will enhance the student recruitment cycle by expanding outreach, enhancing communication, and events.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and ten years of closely related professional experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated technology proficiency with various software applications, CRM experience highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute enrollment management strategies.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

Job Duties

  • Strategic Leadership & Institutional Alignment: Provide strategic leadership for undergraduate and graduate recruitment, admissions operations, and visitor experience functions. Partner with academic and administrative leaders to align recruitment strategies with institutional priorities, academic capacity, and student success goals. Contribute to cross-campus planning efforts to integrate enrollment strategy into long-range institutional planning. Collaborate with Enrollment Management leadership to address evolving student needs, higher education trends, legislative requirements, and emerging technologies. 
  • Recruitment Strategy & Enrollment Execution: Develop and execute annual undergraduate and graduate recruitment plans aligned with the University Strategic Enrollment Management Plan. Establish benchmarks at each stage of the enrollment funnel and hold parties accountable for their efforts toward achieving those goals. Lead territory-based recruitment strategies that strengthen relationships with high schools and community colleges while improving student engagement and follow-through. Partner with Enrollment Management Communications to implement marketing and communication strategies that support recruitment, conversion, and institutional visibility. 
  • Data, Analytics & Reporting: Analyze enrollment data and student trends to enhance analytics and reporting infrastructure supporting forecasting, predictive modeling, yield management, and strategic decision-making. Share data and reports that enable other stakeholders to contribute to enrollment growth. 
  • Admissions Operations & Policy Management: Oversee admissions operations, including application processing, evaluation workflows, and decision release processes, while leading staff responsible for application review, file processing, and admissions decisions. Develop, implement, and maintain admissions policies, procedures, and standard operating practices that support consistent application review, transcript processing, compliance, data integrity, and high-quality service delivery. 
  • Technology, Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Utilize technology and leverage platforms to drive optimization and improve communication strategies, automate workflows, strengthen reporting and analytics, streamline application and transcript processing, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance operational effectiveness and the student experience. Advance continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and innovation across all admissions pathways. Stay current with industry trends and best practices. 
  • Leadership, Representation & Staff Development: Serve as a visible campus and public-facing leader advancing admissions strategy, recruitment initiatives, and enrollment outcomes. Professionally develop staff to improve retention and growth. Represent the Vice President and the Office of Admissions on university committees, advisory councils, community organizations, and external events.
