Location: The Woodlands, TX

Position Overview

Ecovyst is seeking a seasoned Senior Vice President, Commercial to lead the companyโ€™s commercial organization and drive long-term value creation in a public company environment. This executive will have full accountability for commercial performance to the contribution margin level, ensuring delivery against volume, pricing, and profitability commitments while maintaining strong governance, transparency, and stakeholder engagement.

The SVP, Commercial will define and execute Ecovystโ€™s five-year commercial strategy, aligned with corporate objectives and shareholder expectations. The role will oversee senior commercial leadership across Eco Services and Calabrian, as well as Customer Service and Logistics, ensuring tight integration between commercial strategy and operational execution. This leader will regularly interact with the Board of Directors, providing clear insights on commercial performance, market dynamics, risks, and opportunities.

Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial Strategy & Long-Range Planning
  • Develop, own, and execute Ecovystโ€™s five-year commercial strategy aligned with corporate growth objectives and capital allocation priorities.
  • Translate long-range strategy into annual operating plans with clear volume, pricing, and contribution margin targets.
  • Continuously assess market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer needs to inform strategic decisions.
Financial & P&L Accountability
  • Own P&L performance to the contribution margin level across assigned businesses.
  • Lead pricing strategy, contract structures, and margin optimization initiatives across the portfolio.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to ensure disciplined forecasting, budgeting, and performance management.
Organizational Leadership
  • Directly supervise commercial leaders for Eco Services & Calabrian.
  • Supervise the Customer Service function.
  • Supervise the Director of Logistics.
  • Build and develop a high-performing commercial leadership team with strong succession planning.
Customer, Logistics & Service Integration
  • Ensure seamless integration of commercial, customer service, and logistics operations.
  • Lead commercial and logistics integration for acquisitions, including pricing alignment and customer transitions.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for strategic customer relationships.
Board & Executive Engagement
  • Regularly present to and interact with the Board of Directors on commercial performance and strategy.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support Board-level decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO and executive leadership team on enterprise strategy and M&A.
Qualifications & ExperienceRequired
  • 15โ€“20 years of progressive commercial leadership experience in the chemical industry.
  • Proven track record managing a $500M+ annual sales portfolio with P&L responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead senior commercial teams across multiple businesses.
  • Deep expertise in pricing strategy, contract negotiation, and margin management.
  • Experience operating in a public company environment.
Preferred
  • Experience integrating commercial and logistics operations for acquisitions.
  • Background in industrial services, catalysts, or process-driven chemical businesses.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred; bachelorโ€™s degree required.
Travel

Approximately 25โ€“40% travel, including customer engagement and site visits.
