Summary:

As the VP, Engineering - Consulting you will lead multiple cross-functional teams in delivering scalable, secure, and high-impact clinical SaaS products. Partnering closely with the Product Leader, you will co-own the success of the domain's portfolio, ensuring reliable delivery, technical excellence, and alignment with enterprise strategy. As a key member of the engineering leadership team, you will drive innovation in cloud-native, HIPAA-compliant solutions, foster a high-performing culture, and contribute to portfolio growth in the healthcare market.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of software aligned to domain priorities
  • Support teams in Agile execution with a focus on velocity, quality, and value
  • Monitor and improve leadtime, defect rates, and team health
  • Use DORA/SPACE metrics to optimize deployment frequency and mean time to recovery
  • Set and enforce technical standards across teams by using the most effective and efficient tools, technologies, and processes
  • Ensure modern architecture patterns and DevOps practices are in use
  • Guide teams through complex technical trade-offs and scaling challenges
  • Oversee solution architecture for clinical systems, including integration with Azure, Databricks, and large-scale data systems
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Partner with EA and Solutions to determine the right solution design for our products, applications and services

Role Requirements:

  • Strong technical background (e.g., cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, Azure, Databricks)
  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • 10 + years of related experience required
  • Experience with large-scale data systems and HIPAA-compliant solutions
  • Effective people manager and mentor with experience scaling team leadership
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audience
  • Experience in healthcare, clinical systems, or data-intensive environments
  • Familiarity with product operating models (dual-track agile, empowered teams)
  • Experience with metrics-driven continuous improvement (e.g., DORA, SPACE)

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $187,800.00 to $348,300.00.
