Job description

Who We Are
In an increasingly complex world where people are starving for someone they can trust, we stand for something simple: always put the client first. We do well by doing good for those we serve. It's the ultimate measure. We believe in providing value beyond a doubt and in the notion that time will either expose you or promote you, based on your willingness to embrace change.
We serve financial advisors and investors through three entities, each headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska: Carson Wealth, Carson Coaching and Carson Partners. We provide coaching and partnership services to advisor firms - and straightforward financial advice to the investing public. We all share a common mission to be the most trusted in financial advice.
Who We Want
The Vice President, Business Development (Channel Partnerships) is responsible for driving new client acquisition and assets under management (AUM) growth through strategic partnerships with financial intermediaries. This role functions as a senior Business Development Officer (BDO), focused on originating high-quality referrals from custodial platforms, branch networks, and affiliated financial professionals.
The VP will serve as a market-facing ambassador, cultivating relationships across assigned territories and converting referral opportunities into long-term client relationships for the firm's financial advisory teams.
This position operates in a highly collaborative environment, partnering closely with Financial Advisors and firm leadership to deliver a consistent and high-touch client experience.
What To Expect
Business Development & Revenue Generation
  • Drive net new asset growth through proactive sourcing and conversion of referral opportunities
  • Develop and execute a regional business plan aligned with firm growth targets
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual production goals (AUM, revenue, and client acquisition)
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects through disciplined activity management

Channel Relationship Management
  • Build and deepen relationships with custodial partners, branch managers, and financial consultants
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted partner within assigned distribution channels
  • Conduct regular in-person meetings, branch visits, and territory coverage to maintain visibility and engagement
  • Position the firm as a preferred referral destination for high-net-worth clients

Client Acquisition & Conversion
  • Lead initial prospect meetings (in-person and virtual) to assess needs and position firm capabilities
  • Ensure a seamless transition from prospect to client with a high-quality experience

Market Leadership & Brand Representation
  • Act as a senior representative of the firm within the local market
  • Participate in industry events, client seminars, and networking opportunities
  • Provide market intelligence and competitive insights to leadership
  • Reinforce brand standards and ensure consistent messaging across all interactions

Internal Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Financial Advisors, Wealth Planners, and Client Service teams
  • Coordinate resources to support complex client opportunities
  • Maintain alignment with firm policies, compliance standards, and operational procedures

What You Need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience working within custodial referral programs (e.g., Schwab, Fidelity, etc.)
  • Demonstrated track record of sourcing and closing high-value client relationships
  • Strong understanding of RIA model, financial planning, and investment solutions
  • Active Series 65, or Series 7 & 66, or advanced designation (CFP®, CFA®, ChFC®, etc.)

EEO Statement:
In exchange for your expertise, we offer a base salary, bonus potential, 401(k) plus matching, health benefits, and a great working environment.
