How much do vibration testing jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 29, 2026, the average hourly pay for vibration testing in the United States is $36.38, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $25.00 and $43.27 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Does vibration lower cortisol?

Vibration testing as a job involves applying controlled vibrations to products or structures, not directly affecting human cortisol levels. There is no evidence that vibration exposure in testing environments lowers cortisol in humans; in fact, excessive vibration exposure can cause stress or health issues. Managing vibration levels and safety protocols is essential for worker health and safety in vibration testing roles.

What are the typical day-to-day responsibilities in a Vibration Testing role?

Vibration Testing professionals are responsible for setting up and performing tests on machinery or components to measure and analyze vibration levels. A typical day may involve preparing test equipment, collecting and interpreting data, troubleshooting issues, and compiling detailed reports for engineering or maintenance teams. Collaboration is common, as you'll often work closely with design engineers, reliability specialists, or maintenance personnel to diagnose problems or validate product performance. Depending on the industry and company, you may conduct tests both in laboratory settings and in the field. This diverse workload offers hands-on technical experience and regular opportunities to develop expertise in advanced diagnostic technologies.

How do I make my iPhone vibrate for my 🐱?

Vibration testing as a job involves assessing the durability of products under vibrational conditions, not controlling device functions. To make an iPhone vibrate, you can enable vibration in the device settings or use accessibility features. For vibration testing roles, knowledge of testing equipment and standards is essential.

How do I make my phone vibrate for 🐱 on Android?

Vibration testing professionals working with Android devices can enable vibration for specific notifications or apps through the device's settings or accessibility options. To make your phone vibrate for a particular emoji or notification, ensure vibration is enabled in sound and notification settings, and use compatible apps or custom notification settings to trigger vibrations for specific content. Knowledge of device hardware and software configurations is important for precise control.

What frequency vibration is good for osteoporosis?

Vibration testing as a vibration testing professional involves analyzing how different frequencies affect materials and structures, not treating medical conditions like osteoporosis. For osteoporosis, low-magnitude, high-frequency whole-body vibration (around 30-40 Hz) has been studied for potential benefits, but this is unrelated to vibration testing roles. Job roles in vibration testing focus on equipment calibration, data analysis, and safety standards rather than medical applications.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Vibration Testing position, and why are they important?

To thrive in Vibration Testing, you need a strong background in mechanical or electrical engineering, a solid understanding of vibration analysis, and hands-on experience performing vibration measurements. Familiarity with data acquisition systems, accelerometers, vibration analyzers, and certifications such as Certified Vibration Analyst (ISO or ASNT) are highly valuable. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical findings concisely will help you excel in this role. These skills ensure accurate data collection, effective troubleshooting, and clear reporting, all of which are crucial for equipment reliability and safety.

What is a Vibration Testing job?

A Vibration Testing job involves assessing how products, components, or structures respond to mechanical vibrations. This process helps ensure durability, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. Professionals in this field use specialized equipment like vibration tables and accelerometers to simulate real-world conditions. They analyze data to identify potential weaknesses and improve product design. This role is common in industries such as aerospace, automotive, and electronics.

Job Description:
Do you enjoy working in a dynamic lab environment and contributing to hardware that can directly impact the safety of service members and civilians? Shield AI is looking for a hands-on engineer to help design, test, and validate the next generation of intelligent systems.
The Mechanical Test team's mission is to inform and improve Shield AI hardware design by quantifying product performance through custom measurement systems, specialized testing, and rigorous analysis. This role will focus on vibration, modal, structural, and environmental testing to help engineering teams understand how our products perform in real-world operating conditions.
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about engineering principles, curious about how things work, and excited to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to evaluate design performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve the customer experience.
Success in this role requires technical creativity, strong organization, clear communication, and a willingness to listen, learn, debate respectfully, and solve difficult problems as part of a high-performing team.
What you'll do:
  • Apply technical and creative problem-solving skills to quickly design, build, and deploy instrumented test and measurement systems.
  • Support manual and automated data collection, processing, and analysis.
  • Use measurement science and engineering analysis to understand the static and dynamic inputs, loads, and system responses that drive product performance.
  • Build trusted relationships with mechanical design teams and apply your expertise to help identify the best design paths quickly.
  • Plan and execute test programs, including ground and flight vibration testing, modal testing for finite element model validation, vibration troubleshooting, and strain gauge testing of structural components.
  • Perform shaker table testing and support hardware qualification and development test campaigns.
  • Maintain test equipment and ensure calibration requirements remain current.
  • Develop test plans, technical reports, and detailed data reviews that clearly communicate results and inform design decisions.
  • Support other test and engineering activities as needed.

Required qualifications:
  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with vibration testing of mechanical systems; internship, research, or project team experience is applicable.
  • Hands-on experience performing MIL-STD testing (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461) including vibration, shock, thermal, and EMI/EMC testing.
  • Experience with CAD modeling (NX preferred).
  • Working knowledge of finite element analysis principles.
  • Experience with modal testing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work hard, act as a trustworthy teammate, hold yourself and others to high standards, and treat others with kindness and respect.
  • Track record of taking ownership of development processes, test efforts, or technical features and delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment, navigate ambiguity, overcome obstacles, and deliver results on schedule.
  • Ability to obtain a S//SAR level security clearance desired.

Preferred qualifications:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Leadership experience on a project, research, or product development team.
  • Experience with root cause investigation, failure analysis, design of experiments, or structured problem-solving methods.
  • Experience in startup, R&D, aerospace, defense, robotics, UAV, or high-reliability hardware environments.
  • Demonstrated adaptability, agility, and ability to innovate under pressure while meeting dynamic project demands.
