Job description

Covington, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Vibration Technician to support construction and soil/concrete testing projects. This position may require traveling to various job sites throughout the region, including Metairie, Slidell, and surrounding areas. The technician will work outdoors on active construction sites, monitoring vibration testing equipment prior to concrete placement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the construction testing industry, with potential for growth into soil and concrete testing responsibilities.

Essential Duties:

  • Monitor vibration testing equipment on active construction sites prior to concrete pours.
  • Record hourly test readings by operating the testing equipment and maintaining accurate logs.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete, legible, and accurate.
  • Travel to various project locations as assigned.
  • Follow all job site safety procedures and company policies.
  • Assist with additional testing-related tasks as training and experience increase.
  • Maintain communication with project personnel regarding testing activities.

Requirements/Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong reading, writing, and spelling skills.
  • Clear, legible handwriting is required for maintaining testing logs.
  • Ability to follow instructions and accurately complete documentation.
  • Comfortable working independently while monitoring equipment.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to various construction sites throughout the area.
  • Interest in learning soil and concrete testing with opportunities for career advancement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, excluding heavy rain.
  • Ability to remain on construction sites for extended periods.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods while monitoring equipment; a chair may be used when appropriate.
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain and navigate active construction sites.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry testing equipment or supplies as needed.
