Overnight Registered Veterinary Technician - Emergency
Up to $40.00/hour (based on experience) + $5.50/hour overnight shift differential for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM
Full-Time | 4/10 Schedule | Wednesday-Saturday | 9:00 PM-7:30 AM
SAGE Veterinary Centers - Concord is seeking an Overnight Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Emergency team. As one of Northern California's premier specialty and emergency hospitals, SAGE Concord provides advanced emergency and specialty care supported by experienced emergency clinicians and board-certified specialists.
This role is ideal for an experienced RVT who thrives in a fast-paced overnight emergency environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional nursing care to critically ill and injured patients. You'll work alongside a collaborative overnight team dedicated to outstanding patient outcomes and continuous learning.

Our overnight team plays a vital role in delivering continuous, high-quality emergency care. You'll manage diverse and rewarding cases using advanced technology while working with experienced clinicians who value teamwork, mentorship, and professional growth.
In Your Day-to-Day, You Will:
  • Deliver exceptional overnight nursing care to emergency and hospitalized patients.
  • Triage incoming emergency cases and provide compassionate support to clients during urgent and emotionally challenging situations.
  • Partner with emergency veterinarians to perform patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, aspirates, and other diagnostic specimens.
  • Assist with advanced imaging and emergency diagnostics.
  • Induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia and sedation.
  • Monitor hospitalized and critical care patients throughout the night, responding promptly to changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and communicate patient updates during shift changes to ensure continuity of care.
  • Collaborate closely with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and support staff to deliver outstanding patient care.
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative overnight team culture.

What You Bring
  • Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license.
  • Minimum of two years of emergency or clinical veterinary experience preferred.
  • Strong technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, drug calculations, patient restraint and handling, and critical patient monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and client service skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced overnight emergency environment.
  • Commitment to teamwork, continuous learning, and exceptional patient care.
