What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Analyst, Security Operations is a critical member of the Criminal Response Team within the Verizon Security Assistance Team (VSAT), dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of Verizon’s employees, proprietary information, assets, and facilities. Operating within a high-stakes, 24x7x365 environment, you will manage a dynamic workload of live calls and complex cases to respond accurately to criminal court orders, and search warrants for customer records. A vital part of this fast-paced role involves providing urgent, onsite support during life-and-death situations. You will serve as a frontline responder, rapidly assessing emergencies, engaging directly with callers, and determining the most effective tools or alternative methods to locate devices. Working both independently and collaboratively, your meticulous multitasking will ensure we exceed our 2026 operational business metrics while strictly safeguarding sensitive data and delivering a 5-star stakeholder experience.

To support our continuous operations, your static shift will likely include overnight and weekend hours, along with a requirement to work a minimum of three to four holidays annually. Because this role is essential, onsite provisions are supplied during severe weather events to guarantee the operation remains fully functional. Finally, as a mandatory requirement of the position, you must successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance, demonstrating a strict willingness to adhere to all ongoing compliance protocols to keep your cleared status active.

Responsibilities will include:

Independent Emergency Response: Serve as the critical 24x7x365 liaison for law enforcement during life-and-death emergencies, utilizing sound judgment to independently authenticate callers and rapidly provide crucial customer data (e.g., location tracking) without direct supervision.

High-Pressure Decision Making: Demonstrate exceptional poise and strong multitasking capabilities in crisis scenarios, consistently making sound, split-second decisions when delays are not an option.

Advanced Technical Aptitude: Leverage deep technical skills to seamlessly track, process, and respond to legal demands and emergency situations by navigating upwards of 50 different internal network applications and database systems.

Legal Analysis & Compliance: Apply strong analytical skills to validate, log, and manage incoming court orders and search warrants end-to-end, ensuring meticulous documentation and strict adherence to applicable laws and company procedures.

Strategic Escalation: Exercise refined judgment to evaluate complex legal and emergency matters, determining precisely when a situation requires management escalation to ensure the safest possible outcome.

Cross-Functional Advisement: Collaborate closely with Network, Security, and Legal departments, acting as a subject matter expert to provide guidance on the authorized and secure release of highly sensitive company records.

Technological Adaptability & Testing: Quickly adapt to rapid changes in telecommunications technology by conducting pre-release acceptance testing for new system enhancements, critically evaluating their reliability for live emergency operations.

Operational Optimization: Evaluate call and case-handling processes from a hands-on perspective, providing leadership with actionable, analytical feedback to close operational gaps and drive continuous quality improvement.

Workload Management & Public Relations: Autonomously manage a heavy workload of high-urgency tasks while occasionally facilitating educational presentations for law enforcement agencies to demonstrate the company’s commitment to public safety.

What we’re looking for...You’ll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.

  • Proven experience in the wireless telecommunications, legal, customer service, or technical support fields.

  • Security Clearance: The ability to successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance. Note: This is a mandatory requirement for the position and requires a willingness to adhere to all ongoing compliance and clearance protocols.

  • The ability to commit to an in-office schedule at our Basking Ridge, NJ location, including the flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays to support critical 24x7x365 emergency operations.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Verizon Systems Expertise: Proficiency in Verizon Wireless billing and network systems, coupled with a solid understanding of network architecture and call processing.

  • Legal Background: Prior paralegal experience or a strong foundational knowledge of legal procedures and documentation.

  • Autonomous Decision-Making: A proven track record of exercising sound judgment and making critical, results-driven decisions without requiring direct supervision.

  • Exceptional Execution & Organization: The ability to prioritize competing demands, multitask seamlessly in a fast-paced environment, and drive results—all without sacrificing meticulous attention to detail.

  • Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Highly effective written and verbal communication abilities, paired with the interpersonal tact needed to collaborate smoothly across teams and handle sensitive matters.

If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.
