Job description

Who We Are

Consumer Cellular is proud of our Company culture based on a foundation of happy employees, focusing on doing the right things and ultimately enjoying what we do and who we do it for. Over the past two decades, we have been laser focused on creating an experience for customers that leaves them feeling like part of the family. We combine exceptional customer support with the best products and service to provide unmatched value. We measure our success by the customers, employees and communities we impact.

Part of taking care of our employees includes investing in their present and future. Consumer Cellular subsidizes medical benefits at 93% of the premiums, offers competitive pay and earning opportunities and discounted cell service options. We know that preparing for the future matters and we offer a 6% match on 401k, tuition assistance and training and development for future career growth. Just when you thought it could not get any better we offer a base salary of at least $17 an hour with additional incentives and earning possibilities.

What You will Do

  1. Customer Advocate - You are the difference between a happy customer and a disconnected phone line. Our customers deserve the absolute best service when calling in and we know that you can be part of that solution. On average you will take about 30 calls from our customers across the country. This is the perfect opportunity for you to build connections, build trust and create a differentiated experience.

  2. Technology Troubleshooter When it comes to explaining cellular phones, billing, or answering general questions from our customers, you are the expert. Not only are you able to answer questions, but you are the solution! Customers may need help with basic phone functions, but this role also includes more detailed troubleshooting that requires you to navigate multiple screens and systems at the same time while walking a customer through step-by-step instructions. Some of the areas you could assist with include changing a SIM card, downloading apps, adding contacts, or helping customers work through more complex device or service issues.

  3. Highly Organized and Motivated – This role requires you to be at your best throughout your entire shift. Since you are working from home, you will need to be self-motivated and committed to being available and present for our customers during your shift except for your assigned breaks and lunch. You will also need a quiet, distraction-free workplace and the ability to stay organized while using multiple systems at once. Two monitors are necessary for this role to help with navigation, troubleshooting, and supporting customers efficiently.

  4. Team Player – We win, we celebrate, we laugh, we cry, we appreciate and respect each other as professionals, teammates, and the secret sauce to Consumer Cellular. This means we work collaboratively and appreciate each others’ differences, strengths, and talents.

What Skills You Need (Do not worry we train the rest)

  1. Right Attitude – Come prepared with an attitude focused on learning, creating great experiences and receiving feedback in a positive way.

  2. Experience – High school diploma or equivalency is required. We also require at least 1 year of customer service experience.

  3. Office Computer Skills – You will need to come with basic computer skills (general typing, data entry and basic computer operation).
