Job description

RN Transplant and Cellular Therapy

As a RN Transplant and Cellular Therapy, your voice to influence patient care is valued and empowered at every turn – whether through open, collaborative relationships with your direct manager or more formal opportunities through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. You'll help shape decisions that elevate both patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process / outcomes for the Stem Cell Transplant and hematologic disorders patients.

In this role you will:

  • Reviews and evaluates the care plan, updates and documents the patient's progress toward resolution of problems at least every day.
  • Discusses patient's needs for continued care with health team members throughout the shift.
  • Solicits feedback from caregivers as to patient's response to nursing intervention.
  • Reviews new medical orders promptly and implements accordingly.
  • Assesses patient status and reports pertinent changes to physician promptly.
  • Collaborates with others in planning patient care.
  • Responds promptly and accurately to meet patient's needs.
  • Ability to involve patient/family/significant other in decision making related to patient care.
  • Assesses patient/family/significant other's learning needs, abilities and readiness to learn.
  • Identifies barriers to learning, such as language or culture.
  • Integrates this information into the patient's plan of care.
  • Explains tests, procedures, disease processes, medications and equipment to patient and family throughout the course of treatment.

Job Requirements:

  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
  • BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start.
  • Experience in Stem Cell Transplant Therapy or Oncology preferred.
  • 1 year experience in an acute care hospital required.
