Description
Position Overview

HRV Conformance Verification Associates, Inc. (HRV) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager - Structural Steel Division to support and manage structural steel inspection and quality assurance projects across transportation, infrastructure, and heavy construction sectors.

This role is ideal for an early-career professional with 1-5 years of experience, a Civil Engineering background, and a clear path toward licensure. The selected candidate will work closely with senior leadership and field teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and in compliance with applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing structural steel inspection and QA/QC projects from kickoff through closeout
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal field teams
  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (AWS, AASHTO, DOT requirements)
  • Review and support preparation of inspection reports and project documentation
  • Coordinate field personnel including Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI), NDT technicians, and inspectors
  • Support PennDOT ECMS documentation, reporting, and project tracking
  • Identify project risks and assist in resolving issues in the field and office
  • Participate in project meetings and provide updates to leadership
  • Build relationships with clients and support business development efforts
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
  • 1-5 years of experience in construction, structural steel, QA/QC, or related field
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam passed (EIT certification preferred)
  • Actively pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification - Strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of structural steel, fabrication, or construction processes
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (AWS D1.1, AASHTO preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with inspection teams or QA/QC processes
  • Knowledge of NDT methods (UT, MT, PT)
  • Experience with project tracking systems (e.g., ECMS)
