Overview
Private Banking (PB) US Operations is part of the Central Europe and US region and provides operational support in the US to the Private Banking business in the areas of Discretionary, Trust Planning, Custody, Wealth Advisory, Brokerage and Lending as well as the Deposit business with a combined $70bn assets under management (AUM). Operations is responsible for managing middle and back-office services including the oversight of outsourced services to third party vendors as well as services offshored to other Deutsche Bank locations.
As an Operations Expert, you will be responsible for the oversight of securities and payments processing including the oversight of the internal and external vendors providing these services, the oversight and resolution of any related reconciliation breaks and will be involved in various projects to implement new processes or strengthen our control environment.
Beyond the usual operations processes knowledge required for this position, a solid understanding of accounting principles will be necessary to effectively work with vendor systems and finance teams for seamless transaction reporting and reconciliation.
As an Operations expert, you will be expected to proactively identify and raise operational risks as well as provide solutions to mitigate them as well as be required to participate in audit reviews and remediations as well as provide quantitative and qualitative reporting to different council and senior management.

What You'll Do
  • Provide end-to-end oversight of vendor and offshore teams responsible for daily processing, controls, and reconciliations across securities, payments, and operational workflows
  • Monitor the overall control environment, ensuring timely identification, escalation, and remediation of any gaps or operational risks
  • Serve as the primary liaison for business stakeholders, managing inquiries, issue escalations, and cross-functional coordination with Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Technology
  • Drive operational governance, including KPI/KRI reviews, service-level monitoring, and performance assessments of external service providers
  • Lead audit engagements (internal and external), coordinating evidence gathering, drafting responses, and ensuring timely closure of findings
  • Own regulatory, risk, and senior leadership reporting, preparing detailed presentations, dashboards, and status updates for management committees
  • Oversee and execute strategic and tactical projects, including process redesign, control enhancements, new product approvals, and regulatory-driven initiatives
  • Facilitate continuous improvement by assessing vendor/offshore performance, identifying opportunities for automation or efficiency, and promoting best practices across the operating model

Skills You'll Need
  • Strong understanding of securities and payment processing across asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Structured Products, Funds, Alternatives)
  • Solid foundation in accounting principles and experience working with finance, ledger systems, and transaction reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to provide governance and oversight over vendor and offshore teams, including performance monitoring and control validation
  • Strong grasp of operational risk, controls, and reconciliation frameworks, with the ability to identify gaps and drive remediation
  • Experience managing business stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Technology
  • Strong issue management skills, including root-cause analysis, escalation handling, and cross-functional coordination
  • Proven experience supporting or leading audits, including documentation, evidence preparation, and closure of findings
  • Ability to prepare and present senior leadership reporting such as dashboards, KPIs/KRIs, risk updates, and executive summaries
  • Strong project management expertise, including process improvement, control enhancement, vendor transitions, and regulatory initiatives
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets for analysis and reporting
  • Understanding of US regulatory requirements, including Fed/OCC filings and operational reporting needs
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills

  • FINRA certifications (e.g., Series 7, Series 99)
  • Experience with Private Banking products (DPM, Brokerage, Custody, Trust, Lending)

Expectations
It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York, NY office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications.
