CONFIDENTIAL โ€“ Manager, Special Projects (Finance)

Location: San Antonio, TX

Compensation: up to $130,000 base salary (depending on experience)

Reports to: CFO

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a Manager or Senior Manager of Special Projects to lead key financial processes, oversee payroll-related financial accuracy, and drive budgeting, forecasting, and P&L performance. This is a confidential search, ideal for a hands-on finance leader skilled in Vena and experienced in managing financial operations end-to-end.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Finance & Operations

Lead the P&L analysis, providing insights, variance reporting, and strategic recommendations.

Own the forecasting process, including financial modeling and crossโ€‘functional partnership.

Manage the annual budgeting cycle, with strong use of Vena Solutions for reporting and planning.

Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership.

Payroll Oversight

Provide financial oversight of payroll to ensure accuracy in processing and reporting.

Conduct payroll-related audits and validation tied to financial statements.

Collaborate closely with HR and Accounting to monitor payroll impacts on both budgets and actuals.

Expense & Cost Management

Oversee expense approvals and ensure alignment with company policies.

Manage cost accounting processes, analyzing cost drivers and spend trends.

Identify opportunities for financial efficiency and process improvements.

Special Projects

Serve as Manager or Senior Manager of Special Projects for several months, leading cross-functional initiatives.

Support system enhancements, operational finance improvements, and analytical deep dives.

Respond to ad hoc requests and strategic priorities from senior leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

5+ years of progressive FP&A or corporate finance experience.

Strong proficiency with Vena (required)

Solid understanding of payroll processes and related audit functions.

Experience with cost accounting and P&L ownership.

Strong analytical, communication, and business partnering skills.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
