Title:
Operations Research Analyst - Space Mission Modeling & Simulation

KBR is seeking a mission-level combat modeler to join our team at Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs, CO. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.
Qualified candidates should be adept at effectively organizing and executing analytic studies within a team of analysts containing skills spanning a range of disciplines. Experience and familiarity with the space domain and the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling (AFSIM) is required.
Responsibilities:
  • Utilizing studies and analyses, specifically a strong background in mission-level modeling and simulation, the analyst will make recommendations regarding the military utility, feasibility, joint warfighter impacts of the concepts and capabilities under study
  • Ability to coordinate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify management objectives
  • The analyst will work as part of a contractor team working alongside a broader team of government and contract staff

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, or an Engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience conducting modeling, simulation, and analyses with AFSIM
  • Experience in DoD space and/or joint force programs
  • High motivation, creativity, and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Strong quantitative and analytic abilities to integrate and analyze data
  • An active TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Master's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, or an Engineering discipline
  • Experience with more highly aggregated, campaign-level and/or defense enterprise-level analysis tools
  • Experience with Python, OptDef, MATLAB, R, SAS, JMP, and/or Java
  • Experience with data transformations and data visualization
  • Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and MySQL or other relational databases
  • Experience with BI Tools
  • Experience with Excel VBA

Work Environment:
  • Location: On-site
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal (0-10%)
  • Working Hours: Normal business hours

Compensation:
  • For Colorado only, the salary range for this position is approximately $130,000 - $140,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Other Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
