Job description

Skilled Laborer- Heavy Civil Construction

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Implement and maintain erosion and sediment control measures on construction sites that are prone to erosion.
  • Clean and prepare sites, jackhammer, possibly dig trenches, support the of excavations, clean up rubble, debris, and waste materials.
  • Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials
  • Load, unload, machinery, or tools, and materials, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.
  • Assist other craft workers
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Help flagging truck movements at sites

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Applicant must be able to pass a drug test.
  • The position location is in Norfolk, Virginia
  • Three years of heavy construction laborer experience required
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment
  • Must be able to follow instructions
  • Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices
