Urgently Hiring: RN's for one-to-one care of a child at home in Middletown, NY
Sunshine Homecare Services is seeking compassionate and dedicated RN's to provide one-on-one nursing care to a medically fragile child with complex health care needs part time Sunday 7:00pm - 6:30am. Special skills needed: Gastrostomy Tube, Pulmonary vest, Bi-pap, and cough assist.
Position Details
  • Schedule: Sundays 7pm - 6:30am
  • Location: Middletown, NY
  • Employment Type: Part-Time
  • Rate: $50.00
Essential Job Duties
  • Provide direct nursing care to child at home
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Monitor and document the child's health status throughout the evening
  • Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions
  • Assist with medical devices such as feeding tubes, tracheostomies, oxygen, nebulizer and catheters as needed
  • Collaborate with family, and healthcare providers
  • Ensure compliance with the care plan developed by the RN Case Manager and physician
  • Document care and communicate updates with Sunshine Homecare Services and RN case manager.
  • Use appropriate infection control procedures and safety measures.
  • Comply with all company policies, practices, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program
  • Current NY State RN license in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience preferred
  • Experience in school or community health nursing is a plus
Certifications/Licenses
  • Valid Nursing Degree/Diploma
  • Active New York State RN License
  • Current CPR Certification
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong pediatric care skills required
  • Excellent communication with children, families, and staff
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly
  • Organized and detail-oriented documentation skills
  • Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to remain on school premises for scheduled hours
  • Ability to assist with student mobility and transfers to and from school and when home
