BCI Solutions, Inc.

Location: Northern Indiana (Bremen, IN)

Department: Operations

Reports To: VP of Operations

Position Summary

BCI Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Robotics Engineer to design, program, integrate, and support industrial robotic systems that improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost across our foundry and manufacturing operations.

This role will be hands-on and plant-based, owning robotic cells from concept through production support. The ideal candidate is mechanically and electrically curious, comfortable on the shop floor, and motivated to drive automation that delivers real manufacturing results.

Key Responsibilities

Robotics & Automation

Design, program, and debug industrial robotic systems for:

Machine tending

Material handling

Foundry and machining operations

Assembly and secondary processes

Program robots from major platforms (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, Universal Robots).

Integrate robots with PLCs, sensors, vision systems, conveyors, and safety devices.

Develop and optimize robot paths, cycle times, and uptime.

Cell Integration & Support

Lead robotic cell commissioning from installation through production launch.

Design or support end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) and fixturing.

Troubleshoot robot, electrical, mechanical, and process issues.

Provide ongoing production support and continuous improvement.

Safety & Standards

Ensure robotic systems comply with OSHA, RIA, and internal safety standards.

Participate in risk assessments and safety validation.

Support BCI's Safety First culture in all automation projects.

Continuous Improvement

Identify automation opportunities that reduce labor, improve ergonomics, and increase throughput.

Support lean manufacturing, standard work, and process optimization.

Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

Robotic cells launch on time, safely, and meet performance targets.

Reduced manual labor and improved ergonomics.

Improved uptime, cycle time, and consistency.

Strong collaboration with operations and maintenance. Automation projects deliver measurable ROI.

Salary & Benefits

Full benefits including award-winning healthcare and 401(k) with company match

Starting salary of $85,000+ based on experience, technical ability, and expertise

The Right Fit

You are practical, curious, and driven. You like technology, but you like results even more. You can work with engineers, maintenance techs, operators, supervisors, and executives without needing a translator.

This role takes energy, urgency, and the ability to influence people through action.

At BCI, StatusQuoSucks is not a slogan. It is the assignment.

Requirements

  Required Qualifications

Associates and or Bachelor's degree in Robotics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (Equivalent experience considered)

Experience with industrial robot programming.

Understanding of manufacturing processes and shop-floor environments.
