Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level I Trauma and Neuro surgical experience with night shift and weekend/call requirements.

Details
  • Work in the Operating Room department of a Level I Trauma teaching hospital
  • Surgical caseload includes neurosurgery, spine, complex ortho/ortho spine, and complex general surgery including bariatric procedures
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 18:30-07:00
  • 36 hours per week
  • Holiday and weekend coverage required
  • On-call responsibilities required
Requirements
  • Active RN license, OH state or compact license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS required
  • Minimum 3 years of RN or surgical technologist experience required
  • Level I Trauma and Neuro surgical experience required
  • ENT, GU, plastics, and burns experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second acceptable from a Charge RN (no coworker references)
Additional Information
  • Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including neurology, orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, plastics, ENT, transplant, and robotic-assisted procedures
  • Support complex cases such as craniotomy, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, Whipple procedure, and Da Vinci Xi robotic surgeries
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • Requested time off must be submitted with the contract and is limited to 7 days or less
  • Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict credentialing timelines
  • First-time travelers may be considered for this position
